Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I had been running 28mm Tubeless Pro One’s for a few years with good results. Picked up many puncture weeds, but never had to do more than add some roadside CO2. Figured 30mm G One’s would possibly be a little tougher without much penalty. Worked out perfectly. The only downside with both styles is limited mileage. They’re fast, comfortable and traction is excellent.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I had been riding with midrange ($175+/-) mountain shoes with spd or road shoes with sls cleats, depending on which bike. Both of those shoes caused uneven fit-Velcro straps not tight enough, ratcheting buckle not particularly comfortable. These shoes solve all of those problems, no looseness, no pressure points, just snug and comfortable with room for the toes. As for walking, they’re also comfortable and safe. Now, both of my bikes are XT-M8000, easy in/out. I didn’t much care for the super long laces, so I switched to Iron Laces, which work good and are tidy.
