Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have a problem when it gets really cold - my hands get really painful and lose feeling. When I saw a these gloves I figured I would pay anything to keep my hands from hurting! So far I rode with them on a cold night in the rain and I also used them for the downhill portion of my backcountry ski tour. Both times my hands were perfectly content in my warm gloves. The only thing I do not like about them is the bulky battery that is placed in a zipper pouch on the inside of your wrist. It is so big that I could not pull my ski jacket up to my wrists. These are pretty warm gloves on their own, so it has to be a pretty cold day to wear them on the bike. I plan to just carry them in my pocket and utilize them on the long descents. They are a bit bulky for pocket storage as well, but like I said, I will do anything to stay warm.

I have worn these in a downpour on my bike and stayed completely dry. They are easy to take on and off with the zippered ankles. The ankles can also be tightened with attached Velcro fasteners so they don’t catch your chain or flap. I am able to wear a pair of jeans underneath, perfect fit. I also like the reflective stripe around the leg for visibility. I have not had a need to zip off the lower legs, but at least its an option!

Well, I only got to wear my new Mavic helmet about 4 times before it did what it was supposed to do. On those 4 rides I found this helmet to have a great fit, it did not move around or jostle while riding; it was a secure yet comfortable fit. On my 4th ride I had the unfortunate chance to sink my front wheel into a not noticeable quicksand pit, abruptly stopping my bike and throwing me over the bars directly onto my face. The forehead of the helmet cracked. The only negative was that the visor came off and cut my face clean through rom my nose to my mouth. The trauma surgeon saw the helmet which was flown in with me and stated that it had surely saved my life. Wear a helmet kids! This is a good one. Comfortable, looks good, great price, and has been proven to save lives!
