Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Bought these for my very first time out on a mountain bike... on a demo bike on the Wasatch Crest Trail. Out of the box, the left pedal had a warped thread (fluke manufacturing defect?) that I had to use a thread file to get it to thread into the crank. Aside from that, these were great. They felt solid and light enough, nice wide platform, and the studs kept my feet firmly in place. I'm sure there are plenty of higher-quality, lighter, etc options out there but if you're looking for an intro or budget pedal, I think these are a pretty solid choice.
