My wife and I have Garmin watches and buying this scale had the purpose of getting a unified experience. The Garmin watches track all our daily activities and even our heart rate. The only missing piece was something to keep track of our weight changes and this scale was perfect.
It is awesome. The configuration was very easy, and once I had it connected to our wireless network I could link it to multiple Garmin accounts using their mobile application.
The scale is super smart, it identifies which user is on it based on weight and usage patterns. If two persons weight more or less the same, as soon as you see the wrong user name appear on the screen, you can tap on the scale to switch users. But in our case, since it is only my wife and I, and we have pretty distinctive weights, it has always identified the user correctly.
The scale screen shows a lot of details: BMI, Body Fat, Skeletal Muscle Mass, Body Water, and Bone Mass.
As soon as it finishes showing you all these stats, it immediately publishes them to your Garmin Connect account and you will see the data immediately in your mobile app or in your Garmin Express Website, where you can see charts of changes in your stats over time.
There was only one small problem we had during the initial configuration phase. Our WI-FI is configured to restrict MAC addresses to a specific set of devices. So the first thing I wanted to do was to add the Garmin Scale MAC address to our while list in our WI-FI router, but the scale's MAC address is not defined anywhere in the product, or its box or its included documentation. So, I had to turn off this security feature in our WI-FI router momentarily in order to be able to configure the the scale properly and once it was connected to our network, I could see its MAC address in our DHCP table from which I took its number and configured it in our router and reestablished our security settings.
Other than this small problem, everything is perfect and I am very satisfied with the purchase.
