Got these mainly because of the color. These days when I’m riding I want to have as much bright contrast on as possible so idiot drivers hopefully see me. These fit that bill perfectly. The white is great but the orange is better. What I’m not quite sure about (the bad)is why POC decided to sew two pieces of fabric together to make a simple arm sleeve? Two seams do not make for a comfortable sleeve. I love POC helmets. Doubt I’ll ever use a different brand but I’m not so sure about their clothing line. Looking at reviews for other pieces I can see I’m not alone.

Pretty disappointed with how small this runs. I know from past experience you always size up with Castelli gear but this top is ridiculously small. I usually wear a medium in most everything. Got a large in this one and it barely reaches my shorts. To top it off, there are what the description calls ‘snaplock fasteners’ on the back that are supposed to connect to the matching shorts. Yeah these don’t suit any purpose other than to cause irritation on your lower back. Btw, I have last years model and that snaplock works greats. The matching Free Tri shorts are awesome and work great but I would not recommend this top. What sucks is it’s one of the only tri tops on the market that comes in white. What’s with all the manufacturers making black tops for triathlons? Holy hot batman. I digress.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I run off road triathlons (xterra's) in these. Every season I get a new shoe and have to go through a "break in" period where I get blisters to toughen up various hot spots. See, I don't use socks to make transitions faster. The seamless construction on the interior of these PI's has me sold. Almost half way through the season and not a single blister. The traction isn't as burly as some other shoes I've used but the comfort beats them all. I like the wider toe box as well. Nice work Pearl.

I just got these from Realcycist.com last week. Have put close to a hundred miles in them since. So far I love 'em. I'm more about comfort than how technical they are and these are probably the most comfortable road shoe I've owned without skimping too much on performance. The wider toe box in the Northwave shoes is the key for me. One thing I would suggest is to go at least a 1/2 size bigger than normal. They do fit small. I normally wear a size 10 in most shoes. I went with the 43.5 (10.75 US) in the Vertigo after getting the same version of their mountain bike shoe earlier in the season.
