As I started the search for winter shoes, the Lakes were at the top of my list. I have a pair of their road shoes, really like the boa system, and the reviews I read on forums checked out. My goal was to get something to keep my feet comfortable down to upper teens (Fahrenheit). I wear a 44W in road shoe so ordered 44W, 45R, and 45W since most people recommend sizing up for winter boots. Got the boots and really loved them--the boa worked like a charm and they felt great except for the width--just a little too tight. So I returned them for a 46R and 46W thinking surely that would do it but unfortunately had the same width issue with them as well and wasn't willing to go to a bigger size as they were already a bit long with the 46's and with paying that much for shoes didn't want to take the risk that they didn't stretch/give enough to be comfortable over time. So still think it's a great boot--really disappointed it didn't work with my feet and back to drawing board--will probably look at Shimano's or 45NRTH unless I can find a Northwave dealer close. Return process was very easy--very nice company to do business with.
