Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I only have one ride on these, but they are solid and smooth rolling wheels. Mavic makes your decision to try tubeless easy by including everything you need: tires, valves, sealant. Mine even came set up with the tires and valves mounted. All I needed to do was add the sealant (they even include a nifty sealant injection system). These are not light wheels. They are a full 3/4 lb heavier than my Dura Ace C24s. I'm sure this will deter 90% of wheel shoppers from buying them. But it shouldn't. These would make a great set of everyday wheels for anybody who rides a few times a week. And for somebody like me who does not race and just wants to ride with friends it's a great option. Like I said, they are very smooth wheels. The lack of rolling resistance from the tubeless setup makes up for some of the weight penalty. You can run 80 psi in these and it really helps smooth out rough roads. Something to be aware of - the included Yksion tires are claimed to be 25c but seem closer to 23c.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

When I received these wheels the front wheel was out of true - not terribly - but enough to make me concerned. It was maybe 2mm out of true in one spot. It only took me a couple of minutes to get it trued up straight. I have put around 500 miles on them since and both wheels are still true and spin nicely. This being my first set of carbon clinchers, it took me several rides to fully appreciate what these wheels are capable of. If you ride under 16 mph you probably won't feel much of a difference between these and a decent set of alloy wheels. It's after you have put in some long miles on these and plunged a few long descents that you will begin to notice how smooth and aero they are. And once you get up above 16 mph for an extended period of time you will begin to notice the aero and inertia effect. It is subtle, but it is apparent. One thing to watch out for - I put these on an older Cervelo R3 and mounted some 25mm Continental GP4000sII tires on them. There was barely enough space under the front fork to accommodate this wheel/tire combo. In fact, the rubber that is always at the seam in the middle of the tread of a new tire was rubbing under the fork crown until it wore down. And in the rear there is maybe 2-3mm clearance between the seat tube and the rear tire. I dont' think this will be a concern on more modern frames, but anything 4-5+ years old might have trouble fitting these wheels with 25mm tires or larger. Not sure why this is - maybe the diameter of these is actually larger than an aluminum wheelset? But anyway, I think these wheels are well worth the price. The quality is nice and the braking is fantastic with the included pads. Just be sure to toe them in a bit and you won't get any squealing.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

These tires are light and fast rolling, but I've put in 3 cups of Stan's sealant and they still don't hold air. I put in 32 lbs before a ride and when I get back they are down to around 26. You can see sealant leaking out the sidewall too. The next day they are down below 20 lbs. I bought two tires, used one and am returning the other.

I notice Performance Bike has this bike for $1,000 less with the Ultegra build. I think they cheaped out on the brakes but everything else looks the same or comparable. I could just buy the bike from them and switch out the brakes for $200 to get the full Ultegra build. Or I could buy it from you if you can get the price down to a comparable level to theirs.
