As a big fan of Assos bibs I really wanted to like this jersey, but I couldn't make the size work. I am 6'2", 178 lbs. with a 40" chest, 31" waist and 34" inseam. I cycle 8 hours and swim 4 hours a week.

I tried the L, XL and XLG. The XLG was comfortable but too long and baggy in the waist. The L and XL just too tight in the chest, arms and shoulders.

I would have likely kept the XLG but I was displeased with the zipper. It seemed fragile and looked prone to fail in a year or so. More importantly, the zipper flap covering the bottom of the zipper made the jersey difficult to unzip with 1 hand and impossible to perform a no-look zip at the top of a hill before a descent. For $180, a jersey needs to get everything right.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

Something about myself: I'm 6'2", 175lbs, with a 34" inseam. I ride ~10 hours a week, always hills, don't race, but keep up with my Cat 3 friends. I live east of Sacramento in the foothills of the Sierra and ride all year around.

Last year I purchased the XL and they fit pretty well, but were quite snug in the crotch and bib straps. I wore them too much to return so I ended up up trying to stretch the straps over a chair which also stretched out the front of the "package area" enough to be comfortable but not perfect.

After trying another brand (and getting a saddle sore) I decided to give Assos a try, but this time went for the XLG. The XLG is perfect. Basically, it is as snug as the XL, but just longer in the leg, groin and straps.

My recommendation is to buy 2 different sizes (maybe 3) and return the ones that don't fit. There is no better bib on the market!
