home of the greatest snow on earth!

Alex Laugeman's Bio

Hi. I like mountains and study weather. I'm originally from the midwest, so my interest in weather sparked from seeing/chasing severe thunderstorms, and always missing out on the heaviest snow when we were supposed to get it. I learned to ski quite young, and switched to snowboarding on a little midwest molehill. Looking for a good college to both study weather and be in the mountains, Salt Lake City was the place to go! I have been here on and off for 7.5 years now, and probably will never get tired of it. Being close to the mountains has also introduced me to climbing, hiking, camping, backcountry touring/avalanche safety, as well as more and more biking.

Give me a shout if you have any questions on snowboarding stuff, sport/trad climbing, hiking, camping, backcountry touring, avalanche things, or general weather things! Also GIVE ME A GOOD OLD TWITTER-FASHIONED "FOLLOW" HERE, AND REACH ME AT'TWERK AT (800) 409-4502 ext 4463. Or email me anytime at alaugeman@backcountry.com

Hours: Wednesday & Thursday, generally between 12PM and 10PM

This is my first pair of MTB shorts, or any biking shorts for that matter. I got these mainly for the integrated chamois (removable) to bike to and from work. The chamois is great, and as mentioned before, I really like the pocket positioning and quality of the material. The pockets are around so nothing tries to fall out while biking, nor does it let stuff bang around when you're pedaling. The lower pockets' taped zippers would be good to keep water or mud from seeping in. I have about a 32" waist and the medium fit great. Hopefully I'll be able to actually use these mountain biking soon

After having the Flea USB lights for years and always having them break or get lost, I decided to get something that I could just change the batteries if needed, and have it as a little bit more of a permanent fixture on my bike. This thing does all of that, with lighting features better than the Flea. The side lights are quite obvious, I've used it for a few months now and haven't had to change the batteries yet!
