Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Have used these for a few of months and like them quite a bit.
They really have a snug fit (like a glove is supposed to have!). Very good grip, breaths very well. On mine, no stitches have come apart or anything of the sort. These are on the lighter side though. Great for mild to hot weather. I bought some other pair (also by Fox) with some more protection (padding) and thicker, to use when hitting some gnarly stuff or riding during winter.

If you are a rider that likes everything from XC to some decent-speed descents, for me this helmet may be the best choice in the market. This is of course not an XC-specific helmet (those are much lighter and have more ventilation), and it is not a downhill-specific helmet either (those have better crash ratings), but if you have to own one and only one helmet, I find this to be a terrific choice.
Did quite a fair bit of reading (reviews, descriptions, and such) when looking for an all-in-one helmet, and this came up first. The fit without the chin guard does not look as cool as a regular helmet that was designed not to have a chin guard (it looks a little large, as if you had a huge head); but for me protection comes first (likely all other "hybrid" helmets would have this somewhat odd look when worn without the guard).
Todd Frein, a gear advisor here at C.C. was quite helpful addressing my questions and helping me out with my order. Always a great experience shopping here at C.C!

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I waited a few months to write this review, just to make sure I provide an accurate and fair review.
... It's been about 3 months already and I'm loving it!
It was easy to install (easy-to-read instructions) and looks great on my small SUV.
Folds very easily, despite having the lever close to the actual hitch. I haven't tried lowering the rack when there are two bikes on it (to open the trunk, for example). That is the only situation where I could imagine it being a little tricky to reach the lever (and this is only an assumption!).
Bikes are very secured and glued to the rack. Love the built-in locking mechanism for some extra safety when hitting a restaurant or leaving the car for a few minutes.
I was debating between the Thule rack (the similarly priced Thule version) and this one, but slightly better reviews exist for this Yakima. One of competitivecyclist.com's gearhead, Todd Frein, gave me very good first-hand information and advice regarding both racks and I pulled the trigger for the Yakima. I could not be happier with both the product and the assistance (and patience!) provided by my gearhead.
You won't be disappointed with this product.
