Description

Stealth Carbon Saddle

A trend over the past couple of years has surfaced where pro riders were using stubbier saddles during TT's. The governing body mandates a certain "nose of the saddle behind the center of bottom bracket" distance and by running a shorter saddle, a rider can position the saddle for a more aero, forward position without infringing on the setback rule. As aero elements have bled over to mass start bikes, we've noticed these shorter, wider saddles appearing on proper road bikes on road stages. One such model is PRO's Stealth Carbon Saddle. It features a large anatomic recess area designed to help reduce pressure on soft tissue areas while riding in a deep, an aero position. If you subscribe to the "slam-that-stem" set or can't wait to animate the day's breakaway, the PRO Stealth Carbon Saddle might be your cup of tea.

This Stealth Carbon Saddle uses lightweight 7x9mm oval carbon rails for durability and stiffness while helping quiet road noise. The smooth PU cover reduces friction with cycling shorts for an uninterrupted pedal stroke. Widths of 142 and 152mm are available and the stiff and lightweight carbon reinforced polymer in-mold construction provides support and riding comfort. On top of the shell, EVA foam yields proper padding between you and your machine for all-day comfort. A wider nose creates stability and a powerful pedaling platform, while the rear flares up providing a stable support to brace against while climbing. Under the rear of the saddle, the accessory mount allows you to install a race number, light, fender, or camera mount.

  • A saddle for those committed to getting aero
  • Full carbon rails provide significant weight savings
  • PU cover reduces friction for smooth pedaling
  • Deep relief channel prevents pressure points
  • Carbon reinforced polymer shell for lightweight and shock absorption

This saddle is great! Just installed it and my first Zwift ride was noticeably more comfortable and my power and endurance numbers immediately increased. I was previously using a Fizik Antares R1 Open. I found with the Fizik, I felt the need to get out of the saddle often to mitigate discomfort, and by the end of a ride, I would definitely be feeling a little sore and borderline numb. I've also experience with the Fizik Arione R1, and I didn't along with that saddle at all. Set up from the Fizik was a breeze - I didn't need to adjust seatpost height whatsoever, and installed so the markings are pretty much even and centered between the clamps, dropped the nose just a touch and it's perfect so far. Sliding forward and having the wider nose when putting power down feels great and supportive - no discomfort. Bonus is the light weight, build quality, and it looks great on my bike. Love it!

Great Saddle so I've Heard

A few friends have purchased this Saddle and love it. I ordered mine on December 28, 2020. Fast forward to Jan. 4th 2021: My Order was shipped via OnTrac Demand from the SLC Warehouse 12/29/20. I received two alerts from OnTrac stating that my delivery address was invalid; strange since other Carriers have not had a problem finding my new home - even the Pizza Delivery person! Google Maps is a wonderful tool. OnTrac is a Professional Shipping and Logistics Company that is unable to delivery my item. After two attempts; each time I receive a phone call from OnTrac stating "invalid address". Competitive Cyclist stepped up and shipped another Saddle via UPS once I called them. Addison Everett from Competitive Cyclist handled my problem and has a new Saddle on its way. Warning to all Competitive Shoppers and Buyers. When placing an order specify that you do not want Ontrac as your carrier, unless you never want to receive your order. The OnTrac team in Salt Lake are "dumb fucks" that will drop the ball and will not put forth any worthy attempt to find your address to provide a professional delivery service. Thanks Competitive for helping me out with my Order! Keep up the Great Work and Drop Ontrac Demand here in Salt Lake City.

I've had problems with Ontrac as well. They are the worst.

Comfortable saddle, looks nice, very light weight... Taint easy to find a saddle that ticks all the boxes but this one sure does.

Best Saddle I’ve Found

I’ve been an avid cyclist for 30 years averaging 5600 miles the last 12 years. Always seem to be searching for a saddle that will provide comfort with 4+ hours in the saddle. Until the Pro Stealth, I couldn’t say that I was 100% pleased. After about a 50 mile break in, this saddle became the best saddle I’ve used. No discomfort and absolutely no numbness! Saddles are rider specific but this one is a winner for me.

Excellent Saddle 👍

This saddle is Fantastic! One sit and I new I had found a winner. This saddle allows me to ride really comfortable in any position. It really shines though when you get low and drop the hammer. The short nose provides a very free pedaling feeling while in a aero position.

Super Comfy

Finding the right saddle has been tough for me over the years since most feel good for the first 10-15 miles, but beyond 20 miles is where I really find out which ones work best for me. I was a bit skeptical of this saddle due to how short it is, but it has been fantastic in the dozen or so rides I've had on it. Additionally the profile looks good on my build and the light weight is an added benefit.

So far so good.

I wanted to see what the snub nose fuss was all about. Feels like it puts you in a more powerful pedaling position. Haven't done anything over 2.5-hours yet but I like it. I ended up tilting the nose down about 1.5-degrees and it's all good.

So comfy yet fast

Familiarity:

I test rode my new SWorks Tarmac this morning. It is a stiff race bike. It reduces road chatter a bit but you can still feel it. This saddle helped immensely. It has enough padding to be comfortable, but not so much riding with bibs is awkward. The saddle is super light and the shorter nose and cutout did not create any numbness issues. This saddle is similar to the Specialized Power Saddle but a little more comfortable. Please let me know if you have further questions. igonder@competitivecyclist.com

Hi! I have the Pro saddle with steel rails and just realized it’s the wrong size. Went ahead and purchased the Pro Stealth Carbon and wondering if I this works with the same clamps? Thanks!
