Don't over-complicate things.

You can buy bottle cages made of carbon fiber, secret NASA composites, and magic, or you can grab the PRO Fiberglass Bottle Cage. It is, unsurprisingly, made of fiberglass, and while it's seriously affordable, it still weighs just 32g, so it won't slow you down or cost you that podium spot.

Skinny Cages

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I know skinny jeans are in with the cool kids, but didn't know it has caught on with bottle cages. It's very hard to insert my bottle back into the cage after hydrating. I guess the one upside is the bottles are locked in tight, but the effort it takes to put them back in is borderline distracting. It’s scratching the design off my bottles, which I’m fine with, but that’s to give an idea of how tight the squeeze is.

Excellent Bottle Retention

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This thing does the job and doesn't break the bank... I would recommend it. There's several perfectly good options out there, but if you like the looks of this one I would say go for it!

It works...

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

It's a bottle cage. It holds bottles very tightly. I've been using these for road riding, so no big impacts, but those bottles aren't going anywhere. On the other hand, it is difficult to get bottles in while riding, which is when I need to get the bottles back in the cage. I am hoping they loosen up just a bit over time, or I will find another cage.

Short version - they hold bottles well, but it is difficult to get bottles in.
