Unfold protection.

Fenders are a blessing when the roads are wet. But, they can also be bulky, an eyesore, and a brittle, failure-prone accessory. While the cycling community has seen its share of fender innovation, most of these advancements have turned into novelty gimmicks. The lightweight Portland Design Works Origami Fender sports some innovation that actually works and adds to the fenders' versatility. The best thing about the Origami fender is its incredibly flexible construction. Don't need spray protection in the morning? No problem, just pull the Origami off, fold it up, stash it in your bag, and get on with your commute. The front mount uses a simple strap system that attaches to any traditional down tube without marring the finish, and the rear attaches to the seatpost via a 4mm adjustable cam.

Great design! Simple to install.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I purchased both the front fender and rear fender. I like the Black/Reflective version since it reflects and looks great.

The Rear Fender snapped together easily and was simple to install the clamp on my seat post. You can adjust the angle/distance from tire, so it can accommodate any size tire or frame. Once installed it looked great and was sturdy.

The Front Fender was also very easy to snap together and install. However, I ran into a problem. On my bike there is not a lot of space between the tire and the downtube, so when I turned my handlebars, the tire hits the fender sides. I have only 3/4" clearance, so it would not work and I unfortunately had to return it. If you bike has a large clearance, I would definitely recommend the front fender.

Works great

Works great, easy to attach and sturdy enough to not break. I use this on my commuter bike. It kinda easily gets shifting to the sides if you move it though, which might make it rub on your wheel - in which was you just have to readjust it. another thing I found that helps this is to attach it pretty high on the seat.

Simple and Easy

This is a great rear fender. Simple to assemble and attach to the bike. I like the ability to take it off so when I am going in and out of stores while in downtown Portland I can take it off so it won't get stolen. 10 of 10 recommend you buy.

Unanswered Question

What size downtube will these fit? I have a carbon tube about 55mm in diameter.

Perfect for my fat bike, keeps the snow and road slush off my back. Super easy on and off.

Easy to Change Depending on Weather

This is my second origami fender (got a new one because my bike got stolen not because it stopped working!) and I love it. It is quick and easy to install, plus easy to pop on and off depending on the daily weather forecast. It provides adequate blockage of water for those rainy days but is probably best for a relatively dry climate (I use it in SLC). For the price and ease, it can’t be beat.

Pretty legit fender

I got this for my cyclocross bike that I use to commute to my other job at a local Emergency Department. I ordered 5 different fender sets to compare them and decide which one to keep. This one was the runner up. I ultimately ended up returning it only because the front fender mounts to the frame rather than the fork. That's not necessarily a bad thing but I really wanted one that mounted to the fork to ensure as much water protection for my feet as possible.

These fenders are super affordable, and easy to install. And they look really cool!

I ended up going with the sks raceblade fender's

Install Guide for these rockin' fenders

Thought this might be of help to show how to install these. Rear Fender Guide.

The option available is for a "front fender", but the rear fender is pictured. Can you verify which one is for sale?

I get the impression that you used to be able to order both from this page, so the rear one is pictured, but all that's left in stock is the front (not pictured for some reason), so if you order the "Front" that's what you'll get, regardless of the picture.
