Why We Like The Omne Air Spin Helmet

Whether you're out for a post-work training ride, or embarking on a weekend gravel adventure, the POC Omne Air Spin Helmet ensures you stay comfortable and protected regardless of where you ride. The EPS foam liner features optimized density with thicker core protection zones that provide all-round protection for everyday use, while ventilation channels and a low weight inspired by the award-winning Octal and Ventral helmets ensure optimal comfort and cooling on longer rides. The helmet boasts a slim profile and a clean aesthetic, and features a 360-degree size adjustment system that makes it easy to find the perfect fit.

The Omne Air Spin employs POC's SPIN rotational impact protection system. This design minimizes the traumatic forces from crashing at an oblique angle by allowing the helmet to rotate independently around your head in the case of an angled crash. Spin pads placed inside the helmet are fixed in place, but exhibit a bit of movement, which gives the helmet a bit of shear in the case of a crash. These pads are made of a silicone-based material on the bottom for extra impact mitigation, lined with traditional foam on top for sweat-wicking comfort.

Great helmet - awful straps

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

File this under, "You had one job" to the guy who designed the straps on this lid. In my living room, the helmet fits great, deep ventilation channels, nice looks, and then I buckled the straps and the non-adjustable(???) plastic bits that sit below my ears were tugging up into my earlobes. Tilting my head as I would on the bike made them ride up even more, making the helmet unwearable. Every helmet I have owned has had a way to adjust the straps except this. Try it on before you buy or be ready to send it back (which CC makes pretty easy)

Horrible Strap system

I like another reviewer returned helmet before using. The issue is the strap. I'm not a big guy, 6' tall about 190lb. Chin strap was way too tight and I had it at the max. It went on but when I moved my head it was cutting into my neck. As others mentioned no adjustment for ears, kinda uncomfortable . It's a shame because it's a really nice helmet otherwise. I really wanted to keep it, well made and it looks good. I contacted POC directly and asked if they had any solutions but no. They did say that the issues will be addressed in an updated model, next year. I do have a no name helmet off Amazon that actually has a perfect strap system. Adjustable ear holes as well as chin strap. Actually better or as good as any name brand $35.00. Not MIPS and not sure how safe it is compared to the name brand helmets. They should copy that one. Lol

Bought a size small, been wearing multiple smith overtake size small for years. The straps can?t be adjusted and pull up on my earlobes. Super uncomfortable.

Runs quite small. My other helmets are a great fit at L. The POC was hopelessly too tight.

Good Helmet some sizing issues

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I have used the helmet for several rides now and it works good with no issues. Works well alone in conjunction with a cap, sun glasses and headphones or ear buds. Venting is good and the strap adjustment is adequate. I will say however that it took a couple of tries to get the sizing right. Originally I ordered the medium and it seemed a bit big and according to the size chart I could go small. So, I returned the medium and got the small. The small ended up fitting my head but due to the design of the straps they were too short to fit over my ears. So, back went the small and I recorded the medium. There is nothing wrong with the medium I just would have preferred the smaller profile of the small helmet.

Very bad strap returning, paying postage from my own pocket. Bad experience with POC.

The OMNE is my first POC helmet, and it doesn't disappointment me. Several commenters discuss problems with the straps around the ears. Fortunately, the OMNE works from me, but can see why it can be problematic and unresolvable. My head-size border-lines medium to large, and based on one commenter (medium runs small), I ordered a large and it's perfect. I'm certain the medium would have been too tight. Also, I'm a round head, not oval, and the OMNE fits well. Last, I've seen riders wearing older POCs and it appears they have mushrooms on their heads (and why I didn't purchased). The OMNE doesn't have this look, and my wife confirms, I'm not wearing a mushroom.

True to size. Good venting. Not the most comfortable, not the worst. Looks really good. Any Shades will lock into vent holes well. Would buy again.

STRAPS!!!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

This is my second POC Omne Airspin- which is why I didn?t read all the other negative reviews on the straps first. Huge bummer- these straps are way too short. Ear loops too tight. Not sure what POC changed between this version in my last, but it?s a fail.
