The other 300 days.
Not even the most competitive of cyclists makes every pedal stroke in anger, and POC's Fondo Classic Men's Jersey is built for those days when the engine is idling. Whether it's a group ride, a recovery spin, or a solitary ramble through any one of the jersey's iconic namesake destinations, the Fondo bridges the gap between POC's aggressively appointed Raceday line and the other 300+ days on the calendar.
The Fondo Classic Jersey updates the slimmer fit of the Raceday model with a more forgiving silhouette. It's still cut to accommodate a body in the saddle — with a slightly higher front hem and extended coverage with an elastic grip at the back — but it eschews the painted-on Raceday lines for a fit that better accommodates those of us who are built like people who cycle instead of professional cyclists. Don't get us wrong, we love the fit of barely there race kit; however, some days we enjoy a bit more space between us and a jersey — especially while working off holiday kilos in the early spring.
Like the fit, the Fondo's material composition represents a simplified application of the Raceday ethos. Since it doesn't need to conform to every body contour, the Fondo is able to omit the latter's high-stretch elastane component, relying on a 100% polyester build that wicks moisture and promotes breathability. Underarm mesh panels further enhance the jersey's cooling powers.
The Fondo Classic is finished with three generous rear pockets that provide quite a bit more storage than the Raceday model's minimalistic pockets. That additional space will be more welcome during long base miles and endurance events, and it's supplemented with an additional, zippered security pocket for the things you can't afford to orphan while bouncing along on the ill-maintained chip seal that seems to feature during every gran fondo event. POC's high-visibility AVIP pedigree manifests in the large, reflective branding across the jersey's dark pocket panel, and the full-length zipper is governed by a zip-pull shaped specifically for each version's namesake locale.
