Do Half Blade Sunglasses
POC's attention-grabbing style continues to make its way into eyewear, with this year's newly-introduced DO Half Blade Sunglasses further advancing the cause. Designed to provide cyclists with a more extensive field of vision, the half-frame glasses have been seen on the likes of Cannondale-Garmin already and are now available for those who don't ride in green argyle.
The glasses' frames are made out of grilamid, a moldable synthetic that keeps weight low and handles impact well. POC uses hydrophilic rubber inserts on the nosepiece and temples to ensure the frames stay securely in place during hot summer rides, and the Zeiss lenses receive anti-fog and Ripel treatments to keep their surfaces clear throughout your ride. For days when the included lenses aren't ideal, they're easily interchangeable with other POC lens tints.
Equally concerned with safety as with clean, Swedish design, POC added the oversized lenses to afford riders a wider field of lower and peripheral vision, and the view is made even more extensive when combined with the absence of bottom rims on the frames. The lenses' tint is designed to put the road's surface in sharp relief, so you can keep a close eye on obstacles and depressions in the road without having to look down during sweeping descents.
To complete your kit, pair the DO Half Blade glasses with the corresponding colors of POC's helmet line. If you opt for the Octal, the DO Half Blades are designed specifically to fit under the helmet's temples and in its glasses garage.
- Frames are made with grilamid, a lightweight and moldable synthetic
- Hydrophilic rubber inserts on the nosepiece and temple
- Interchangeable Zeiss lenses feature anti-fog and Ripel treatments
- Lense tint designed enhance contrasts on the road’s surface
- Oversized frames offer wide field of vision with improved lower and periphery vision

These glasses fits perfectly and the clarity and wide field of vision of the lenses let you see your surroundings in sharp detail and contrast, with your eyes fully protected from the elements. The build seems sturdy enough with proper use and care. Btw, I ordered a Cannodale Green/Uranium Black/Violet Silver Mirror (at 50% discount) and was surprised that it came with a clear spare lens, which I did not expect. And I think this pair glasses looks awesome...I love it!

I've never worn proper cycling glasses before. I wear prescription glasses for distance vision, so I've always just gone with those for cycling. I decided I needed a lot more coverage recently when riding in the rain. Gusting winds blew the drops around my glasses and stung my eyes something fierce. I try to avoid looking like some Tour de France wannabe, so I started with POC's Do Flow glasses -- full frames that look like regular sunglasses. Those drove me nuts. The frames were so thick, they impaired my peripheral vision. And they fit so snugly to my face, they fogged over at every stop. Having learned my lesson, I ordered up the Half Blades. Love 'em. The minimal frame doesn't impede my vision in any way. And there's plenty of coverage despite the lens not being that deep. Haven't had a chance to wear them in torrential rain, but in light rain no water gets past them. They don't fog over, either — a benefit of being frameless on the bottom edge. As others have mentioned, they fit perfectly with my POC helmet, an Omne Air Spin. All in all, very satisfied so far.

I like not having the frame on the bottom of the lense as my field of vision is cleaner. They fit great with POC MTB and road helmets.

Stylish
- Familiarity:
- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
These glasses look SO good, especially when paired with a Poc helmet. I bought the dark blue version for my fiance, and he loves them. The color is matte and a nice change from his former white Poc sunglasses. Only downside on these is that the lenses aren't so easy to change, and when you are changing them, it feels like you're going to break the frame.

I am a triathlete and outdoor enthusiast so I ask a lot of a pair of sunglasses. Having used sporty cheap, midrange, and casual sunglasses for a long time I finally jumped on these bad boys. Firstly they feel incredibly light and have very precisely shaped contact patches on the nose and temple pieces which don't rub too much but keep the glasses firmly in place. Secondly, the size of the lenses is just right - covering your entire field of vision without hitting your cheek. They come with a mid-tint lens colored for road vision contrast and a clear lens which is a great deal! Lastly they are super light. You really don't notice you're wearing glasses - you just feel protected. Styling is super subjective so I'll leave that to you but I found it nice to be sporty without looking too aggressive. The dark blue color is almost black so it will match many outfits.

This is my second pair of POC glasses from the DO Blade family and I do like this version better, the Half Blade. By taking away the lower frame, the glasses are less obtrusive in terms of coverage and the frame doesn't rest directly on my face. Also, these are a seamless fit with the POC Octal helmet and they even fit nicely into the front vent for storage when climbing. The Navy Black frames came with a spare lens (clear), although I don't believe every frame color comes with the two pair of lenses.

These glasses were a splurge for me. Glad I purchased them. The lenses are what make the glasses worth the cost. Everything is clear and crisp. Unfortunately, the uranium glasses did not come with a clear lense. I did purchase a clear lense shortly after my purchase. That is why I gave the 4 star rating instead of 5. They fit well with a POC helmet and the lenses are easy to change out.

What was the finish on the black lenses? Are they a mirror finish? Also, are the black lenses polarized?

The lenses are a smoke finish so they are great for bright days. POC also offers different lenses for low light that I may purchase.
