Description

Coverage breeds confidence

Where exactly is the line between freeride and all-mountain riding? We're not sure, but we know its sketchy--and because of that, we're glad to have options like POC's Crane Pure Helmet. The Crane Pure offers maximum coverage for aggressive riding, yet it provides enough ventilation to ensure that you don't overheat when there's no lift to the top. Additionally, in-mold construction keeps the Crane's weight reasonable for a skate-style helmet.

In a crash, the worst-case scenario for your brain is for it to come to an abrupt stop. So what sets the Crane Pure apart from other options is its progressive core construction, which combines a lower-density inner layer with a higher-density outer layer. The inner layer provides ample cushioning for minor dingers, but in the event of a more forceful impact, the outer layer provides a higher level of resistance. The two layers work in tandem in the event of a major crash to limit the abruptness of your stop.

The POC Crane Pure Helmet comes in three sizes and in seven colors: Bohrium Red, Hydrogen White, Iron Orange, Krypton Blue, Lead Blue, Uranium Black, & Ytterbium Pink.

Light, well priced

Bought for commuting and occasional mountain biking.

The dual layer is a little noticeable... it does look a little thick but hey you're buying this for protection!
I prefer the crane pure over the crane (that has an adjustable back), I just don't like the feeling of plastic at the back of my head, I'd rather it be all foam (and it's less expensive!).

    Good light weight commuter helmet

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I use this for simple easy bike commutes in the city. It is light and fits well. It is not adjustable and there isn't a whole lot of customization with the padding they give you, but serves its function well. If you are one of those that doesn't like all the helmet logos all the ones on this helmet are stickers so they are removable.

    Great bang for the buck

Good looking helmet that fits true to the sizing chart online. Light weight and my head breaths really well.

    Not adjustable

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is my third POC helmet. My other two Cranes are adjustable so I was surprized when this one showed as one size fits all. You better hope you order the right size- plus the foam pads that are the liner will compress with time so if it fits you now it wont fit later. I like the adjustment on my other Cranes because sometimes I wear a sweat band so I make it a little bigger. Serious disappointment from a good company!
