Low-slung & gung ho for XC and trail dominance.

Look at that swooping top tube. Just look at it. It captivates the eye like a surrealist painting. But the Pivot Mach 4 Carbon isn’t overly concerned with making an aesthetic statement. That top tube yields the lowest standover clearance you’ll find on a 27.5in-wheel bike, making it a bike that accommodates smaller riders with ease and excites active riders of all sizes. What do we mean by active? In today’s world of auto-piloting steeds, there are still those who prefer to own the space above the wheels without unnecessary intrusion from their equipment, being free to burst, shift, and lean their way with precise and calculated movements over the trail’s obstacles. If you consider yourself an artist in motion, the Mach 4 Carbon may be your new preferred brush.

The podium-hungry Mach 4 Carbon is, simply put, the lightest full-suspension bike Pivot has ever made (5.1lbs min). But if you’ve ridden one of Pivot’s recent carbon offerings, you know the company’s standpoint on carbon design — stiffness comes first. Even Pivot’s XC bikes track over rough terrain with unwavering accuracy. Hard corners, off-camber landings — if you feel some flex from the Mach 4 Carbon, it’s almost guaranteed to be coming from the wheels and tires, and that gives you ample control to ride at the edge of sanity.

Suspension duties for the Mach 4 Carbon are handled by the proven DW-link design, which yields 115mm of smooth travel while counteracting speed-robbing pedaling forces. This translates to race-worthy acceleration and consistent contact with the trail. Stand up and stomp on the pedals and you’ll be amazed at the grip you get on loose dirt. Because Pivot worked closely with FOX on the FLOAT CTD Kashima shock tune, your suspension and shock will combine to provide travel that’s responsive, predictable, and uses every available millimeter. As with prior iterations of the legendary Mach 4, you’ll feel like you’re riding a bike with more travel.

To keep everything tidy and quiet, the Mach 4 carbon comes with full-length internal cable routing, including internal routing for a dropper post. This frame can be paired with a 100mm fork for pure XC speed, but it’s also at home with a 120mm fork for increased confidence on rough trails. The longer fork will slacken the ride a bit, but with DW-link suspension in back, the Mach 4 Carbon rides high in its travel, so you won’t experience any front-end wandering.
