The Pivot LES 29 Carbon Pro XT/XTR 2x Complete Mountain Bike is a lightweight, ultra-stiff race bike destined for the podium at the highest levels of competition, regardless if you're competing in 24-hour marathons or blistering-fast XC races. This race-worthy 29er features interchangeable Swinger II Dropouts, so you can convert it to run meaty 27.5+ wheels on mucky off-season trails or ride it as a singlespeed for fuss-free simplicity.
The LES' geometry is a newer take on classic XC, meaning it's a bit slacker with a 69.5-degree head tube angle, which allows you to conquer technical courses without sacrificing its nimble handling or climbing prowess. 17.1-inch chainstays allow for agile cornering when you're negotiating switchbacks and cleaning tight sections of trail. It's equipped with a 100-millimeter FOX 32 Factory Step-Cast Fork, which keeps the geometry in-line with a race bike of this pedigree, as well as keeping overall weight down with the fork's stepped lowers.
Pivot's proprietary hollow core, internal mandrel process yields a high-modulus carbon frame that's approximately 50 grams lighter than the original LES, all without sacrificing its strength or stiffness on the race course. Pivot designed the LES frame to maximize comfort on longer rides and marathon efforts where a hardtail is especially jarring, but without sacrificing stiffness required for quick acceleration on race day. Notable design features include an oversized box section where the downtube and bottom bracket meet, as well as Boost axle spacing for a stronger and stiffer 29er wheelset.
Pivot has recently overhauled their warranty on carbon frames to an impressive 10 years, meaning you'll likely be riding and racing on the LES for years to come. Seeing it's an investment destined to last, the LES is practically futureproof with its Di2 compatibility, which neatly houses all cables, wires, and batteries within Pivot's Cable Port System. This way, you can upgrade to Shimano's slick-shifting electronic drivetrain without integration issues or unsightly external attachments plaguing your beautiful race bike. Moreover, the Cable Port System is compatible with dropper seatposts, so you can internally route your dropper cables for clean lines and muck-free maintenance.
