When going fast down the mountain is priority number one we turn to the Pivot Firebird Pro XT/XTR DHX2 Mountain Bike. Pivot's new fun-focused and podium-ready enduro trail bike gets an upgrade with redesigned geometry dropping grams and gaining speed. 165mm of plush rear end suspension can be easily tuned thanks to the Fox Float DHX2. Geometry on the new Pivot Firebird is updated to be slacker, longer, and downright meaner. Meaner to the roots, logs, and rocks we'll be hucking the bike over at least. Coming in even longer and slacker, the Firebird achieves a 64-degree head tube angle in the low setting for enhanced stability at speed without going too far. Pedaling on the Firebird is surprisingly pleasant considering its long-travel nature, thanks to its 77-degree seat tube angle on a size large.
The defining characteristic of the Firebird however is the DW-Link rear suspension design that lets us plow through the perilous double black trails when we need to, yet yank the bike into a whip with ease on jumplines. Spec on the Pivot Firebird is made with the focus going on speed and durability when things get hairy. Shimano takes on the drivetrain with a mix of XT and XTR components enjoying smooth and precise function thanks to hyperglide technology. Maxxis rubber is adorned on the Pivot Firebrid with the front and rear-specific Maxxis DH line taking care of rolling duties.
*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change.
