Prince FX Road Frameset

Pinarello loves the trickle-down of class-leading features and innovations from their Dogma line to the mid-level Prince FX, and we couldn’t be happier to receive the perks without having to fork up the Dogma price tag. The Prince FX Road Frameset benefits from Pinarello’s world-class, FlatBack, aerodynamic tube shaping and stiff, high-modulus T900 3K carbon fiber while remaining accessible and comfortable for everyday riding.

For the non-elite racers among us, the Prince FX is a softer ride via reduced diameters at the downtube and chainstays, compared to the Dogma F12. The reduced width helps create a more compliant ride vertically, without sacrificing lateral stiffness, and in the case of the chainstays, actually increasing lateral stiffness by 10%. Pair that with Pinarello’s asymmetric frame design, which moves the frame towards the driveside to reduce deflection under high-energy pedaling, and the Prince FX performs exceptionally well under hard accelerations and race-pace efforts.

The Prince FX uses Pinarello’s ONDA fork with ForkFlap for aerodynamic gains and precision steering and handling. This version is designed to take direct-mount rim brake calipers, which Pinarello takes pride in, as it helps reduce brake arm deflection by placing the load directly on the frame. You’ll get responsive and predictable braking performance whether in the hot-laps of the race or doing a recovery spin with your crew. And there’s enough room to clear 28mm tires to keep pace with modern trends in wheel design and to seek out a smoother ride and reduced rolling resistance.
