Affordable Shop Quality Tool

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Pedros makes some amazing bike tools and this is no exception. It's the best $30 you'll spend having the perfect star nut set every time. No worries about which top cap to use because your star nut isn't perfectly aligned, and using it couldn't be easier. It's literally fail proof. You may not be a pro mechanic, but this tool makes your work seem so.

Simple and perfect every time

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

After using few other star nut setters for several years I tried this one and it is by far the easiest one to use and is perfect every time.

Perfect set every time

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love this thing. Sets the star nut the perfect depth every time, and dead straight. If you do more than just basic maintenance, this is a tool you can buy once and never have to buy again. Highly recommended.

Star nut setters are all the same-FALSE

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Ha! I didn't think I would love a simple tool like this. I have used several others in the past, including both the basic and super spendy Park Tools version and this one is by far the simplest to use and hardest to mess up.

A must have for anyone that will be installing more than one star nut in their lifetime.

The right tool for the job

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Every so often I add a tool to my toolbox that I really appreciate. First was either a cable/housing cutter or a bottom bracket tool. Eventually as I began building my bikes myself, this tool has become a big help. I don't have to use it often, but it definitely makes the job quick and painless. It only takes one uneven or set-too-deep starnut to realize the headaches this tool prevents.

Easy Installation

This tool makes life easier when setting a star nut. If you're a home mechanic and like to build up your bikes or your friends' bikes this tool will come in handy. It is very easy to use. If you use a carbon steerer you won't need this tool since you'll be using some type of compression nut instead.

I've used this tool a lot more than originally thought. The tool may sit for a while but when you need it you'll be glad you added it to your home tool arsenal.
