Why We Like The X-Alp Summit Shoe
The Pearl Izumi X-ALP Summit Mountain Bike Shoe is a technical one designed to deliver superior comfort and durability for aggressive all-day comfort and all-mountain riding. Its rugged construction lends maximum durability when deep in the wooded backcountry or exposed desert slickrock. The X-ALP Summit uses a seamless upper that cradles the foot preventing any seams or hotspots that could lead to irritation. The closures consist of two lower hook-and-loop straps and a 1:1 Anatomic Buckle Closure System further up to dial in fit while removing pressure from your instep.

I've really loved these. Some shoes with BOA can be uncomfortable across the top of the foot but these are TOTALLY comfy. Soles have great grip for hiking your bike back up to the top of the rocky bonus lines. I've had these for 8 months riding 2-3 times a week and they're still in great condition. I usually only get about a year out of riding shoes but I fully expect these will last longer.

These shoes have been great! They're light and comfortable and the BOA tightening system is a treat for getting them on and off quickly. Great traction when I'm walking around to enjoy mid-ride views. On slabby rocks, I never hear my cleats clacking which also means no slipping around. They were comfortable right out of the box and by the second ride they felt broken in. Decent breathability too. I'd get them again.
