Description

Pursuit Thermal Cycling Bib Tight

When the weather gets iffy, Pearl Izumi's Men's Pursuit Thermal Cycling Bib Tights are the ones to grab to get you through the ride in comfort. These warm, all-weather bib-tights are made for cool days we often find during the spring and fall months. The bibs are constructed with Elite Softshell Thermal Fleece fabric with water-shedding PI Dry technology. They are the perfect solution for cycling in temperatures ranging from 45- to 55-degrees Fahrenheit, and they'll go even lower than that if you tend to run hot.

Articulated leg construction offers excellent range of motion and the mesh bib straps provide stability and support without being too constrictive. These tights feature the same chamois as Pearl Izumi's higher-end offerings so saddle time won't feel like you are strapped to a torcher device. A 7in lower leg zipper with internal draft flap and zipper garage aid when putting on or taking off the tights and the BioViz reflective elements help you get noticed in low-light situations.

  • Bib tights for cool but not cold conditions
  • PI Dry technology repels rain and road spray
  • Elite Prusuit 1:1 chamois for all day comfort
  • Reflective elements for safer cycling in low light

I'm 6'4", 225 LBS, 34" inseam, 36" waist. Ordered size XL and fits perfectly, all the way to the ankle, bib straps just a bit tight. Have worn with no baselayer to temps down to 40F, up to low 50's. I don't even realize I'm wearing them. Could not be happier. These would probably be good in temps down to high 30's.

This is the third pair of these I own (the other two are prior years' models) and they look to be as well-made as the others. Warm enough for hard winter rides, good calf zippers, good stitching, well-shaped, comfortable. I don't tend to do super-long rides in the winter so can't speak to how these would hold up at 100 mi / 160 km range but for 50 milers, etc., they're comfortable. Not the best chamois pad in the world but above average for me. This pair ran noteably small (esp in the shoulder strap length) compared to the other two pairs I have but I'm guessing some of that comes from the fact that the other pairs have been worn and washed a lot more.

I've never been quite warm enough on days below 50 degrees and these tight are a big reason those days are gone. I'd say the strengths of these bib tights are the precise fit up and down the leg and the fluorescent safety panels on the calves, which are out of the way but still very noticeable. Given that the leg materials are warm thermal, I'm sure this kind of snug but supple fit is not easy to achieve. For the price the value is high; the fabrics are top quality. The chamois and bib section stretch are not ultimate but are working fine. I've ridden these through a fairly mild dry high desert winter, down into the mid-40s through the mid and even high 50s (At that point I switch to knickers). I'm pretty sure they will be fine into the low 40s matched with good booties and serious gloves and other gear for that wind chill.

    Keeps me warm and comfortable

I bought these as my first winter weather bibs and they have been worth every penny! Going from regular short bibs and leg warmers to insulated tights is like night and day. They keep my legs warm in the front but allow perspiration to wick away and evaporate. I’ve ridden in the mid 30’s and was very comfortable.

I've worn these comfortably in upper 40s to low 50s temps...they can probably handle lower temps but I just don't ride when it's that cold. The fit for a large size is excellent (I'm 5'9" and weigh 205) like everything else I buy from the PI brand. At this price point I really recommend these tights.

I commute to work every day with my bike in Northern Idaho. Current temp this morning was 27 degrees. I was just fine and comfy in them. Super comfy. Feels like you are wearing PJs. Very soft against the skin. Very stretchy, and movable. Done feel any impedance in my ROM. Also the overall portion are also very comfy. I will admit if I used these in anything over 40 I am usually a little warmer than I want to be. I will definitely be buying another few pair.

Got these when they were on sale here few weeks back, sizing wise Large fitted me and medium was too tight. Have tested these out in 60's and they hold well. material is thick on the legs and calfs which gives some compression. Need to test these out in 50's. in windy conditions did a gr8 job as well.

This is my first pair of bibs and I love them. I have worn them three times so far in mid-50s temps, once in rain. They are windproof and water-resistant and warm. I have a 29" inseam and the legs are a bit long for me. They seemed a bit snug at first but after a few miles, I was quite comfortable. I'm looking forward to many comfortable cool day rides

Couldn't wait to try these out, so got out on the bike on a 60degree morning and they ran warm, as I anticipated. I love the fit with the accent color and reflective elements to be seen on those gray winter days. Going to be a great off season!

    Comfy tights for winter.

    Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Got to ride in these bib tights today in 32 degree temps in the snow. They worked great even in some light sleet and snow showers. The chamois was comfortable and the fabric repelled most of the water. Only at the end while riding in water slush did I start to get wet, but still stayed dry. Need more rides and washes to see how they hold up.

    Great for winter.

    Familiarity:
    I've used it several times

I've been commuting in these all winter. Seven miles each way, four days a week. I run a little warm and use them below 45F. I have only used them down to freezing, but I think they would be fine down to 25F or so. The material is soft and comfortable with enough stretch in the right places. Yellow accents are bright enough to help with dark hours visibility. I recommend considering upsizing from your usual short bibs. I have two pairs of Pearl shorts size M that fit fine, but had to go up to a L for these. I'm not sure if it's because of the cut or the thicker material. I'm very happy with these and would recommend them to other winter commuters.
