Description

Escape the daily grind.

Whether the day's ride calls for a friendly noodle to the local roaster for a pour-over and lively conversation or an epic afternoon of Everesting, the Pearl Izumi PRO Escape Jersey is up for the challenge. Boasting clean lines, contrasting colorways, and technical fabrics, this jersey blends cool comfort and style for any ride adventure.

Made with Pearl Izumi's P.R.O. Transfer In-R-Cool fabric, the PRO Escape whisks moisture away from your skin, dries quickly, and absorbs odors to keep you fresh and comfortable on even the hottest summer days. The sleeve and shoulder panels feature coldblack technology for extra cooling and protection from the sun.

The PRO Escape Jersey includes three standard rear pockets and two additional external pockets for carrying spare tubes, your favorite homemade ride snacks, and a camera to document your adventures. As an added bonus, reflective elements increase visibility to motorists in low-light conditions.

A bit too big

  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: medium

I wanted a pro fit jersey so it would be snug and not flap around on the shoulders. This jersey runs about 1 size too large. I normally wear a Medium in PI, but would need a small to fit good.

I've got two

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

I don't like lots of logos or words on my jerseys so the PI PRO line is a very good value for me. The size and placement of the hi-vis panels are such that you can actually see the jersey from a distance (as opposed to the little slashes of hi-vis material on a seam or two). I've used the jersey 1-3 times per week since purchase about a year ago and it's holding up well, including the zipper and pockets. Even the colors are still almost like new. I bought another copy just last week.

Perfect

  • Fit: True to size

The medium on the size chart is for chest measurement between 38 and 39.5 inches. My chest (bare) measures 39 inches. The jersey is PI's "Form Fit" which I took to mean "European Race Cut". Turns out it was a good assumption - perfect race cut fit for me. It's so difficult to judge the size charts when reviewers do not give their chest measurements for cycling tops. Without that info, comments like "fits large", "fits small", "I usually wear a large and it was too small/too large" really don't have any context and enable buyers to judge the accuracy of the size charts. My experience says the PI "European Race Cut" size chart is spot on.

Re the quality: typical high end for PI's higher end apparel. This jersey is my current "go to" non-club jersey. Can't go wrong with hi-vis these days!

Great fit, great jersey

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

The fit and quality of material is true to form for PI goods. I have rode in 72-78 degree weather in the jersey more than the three times so far and have been very happy with the wicking and moisture evaporation. I stay true to this brand for their commitment to quality goods at good prices.

Sizing A Bit Odd But Keeping It...

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: Large

Beautifully constructed and designed jersey. Not a hot weather material as I had hoped for but rather a bit heavier but breathable. Sizing is a little off vis a vis other jersey brands and even within the PI range. At 6' and 165-170 lbs the Large is a tad big at the chest, shoulders and waist. Length is fine.

Great jersey

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Extra large

Stays put even when pockets are full. Very comfortable, colors are better in person.

Strange fit good quality

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: xxl

So the front is short and the back is long. It tends to bounce in the back if you are carrying anything significant in the pockets. Material is nice and breathable, but having to return because it just doesn't work for me.

Great quality, odd fit

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: Meduim

Excellent quality, no doubt. However, the fit in the sleeve is quite bulky. I normally wear a medium (small/medium when available) in PI, I'm 5'10" 145lbs. While all my PI medium jerseys fit well in the arms, this one has a bit too much room for my arms. Perhaps I should work on my upper body more to fill it in???

I received it as a Father's Day gift and have worn it on one +40mi morning ride. The fabric is very nice and provides excellent cooling. All-in-all, a great quality jersey that doesn't fit me optimally.
