Start to chafe after about 30 minutes

I've been riding this year about 3-4 times a week for an hour to 2 hours per ride. I recently wore out an old pair of shorts and looked for a replacement pair. I still use Specialized shorts but I was still feeling discomfort from sitting on my bike for that amount of time. I looked all over online for new shorts that had enough padding to let me cycle for up to 2 hours without pain in my rear. Of all the brands and shorts I looked at, a common theme emerged - 'not as comfortable as my Pearl Izumis'. So I bit the bullet and ordered the Interval shorts. Their padding is adequate. But my two criticisms are that the padding is a mesh rather than a solid/homogeneous chamois, so after a while riding, it starts to chafe. In addition, the spandex material used for these shorts doesn't breathe the way my Specialized shorts do, which makes criticism #1 even worse as I get sweaty and sticky on the rides, independent of the weather.

I bought these to replace my Pearl izumi elite in-R-cool shorts. These shorts are a little longer but I didn't have any problems with that.

I think the best you can say about any shorts or bibs is that you don't notice them when you're in the saddle. I didn't notice these at all. Fit is the same as the castelli at the same price point.

Bad design changes

Sizing seems smaller than prior versions of same product. This design has a prominent seam across the back and it feels like the shorts are falling down. Disappointed
