Description

Elite Thermal Knee Warmers

During cool, transitional months, Lycra warmers are no longer sufficient, yet fully-windproof tights are overkill. That's where the Pearl Izumi Elite Thermal Knee Warmers come into play, delivering more warmth than the Lite warmers without being overly stifling like the PRO Softshell warmers can be in mid-range temperatures.

For this generation, the Elite Thermal warmers bridge part of the gap between them and the PRO Softshell model with the addition of the PI Dry treatment. PI Dry adds water resistance to the material's midweight insulation, so you no longer have to choose between overheating or risking exposure to light drizzle and road spray.

Finally, a note on length, which the Elite Thermal warmers have plenty of. While cyclists of all height will appreciate these warmers' generous coverage, eliminating the warmer/shorts gap while being able to maintain upper calf coverage is a rare luxury for cyclists in the 6ft+ range.

  • Knee warmers for spinning on soggy, chilly days
  • Water-resistance repels light rain and road spray
  • Midweight thermal insulation for shoulder season temps
  • Built to reduce bunching and slouching while pedaling
  • Soft, wide elastic cuff grips with silicone print
  • Reflective details add a bit of visibility on overcast training rides

Nothing worse than knee warmers that don’t stay in place and slide down. Ordered these as i have the comparable arm warmers which work great and figured these would be similar. Wrong...... Elastic and the “sticky” backing doesn’t hold at all. Got about 60 yards before they started sliding down. Readjust. Ride again. Stop. Readjust. Finally just pulled them off. Rode in about mid 40 windy but dry conditions where these were needed - didn’t work at all. I have another pair of Pearl Izumi knee warmers that stayed in place and worked great. But after 10+ years, they were getting worn out.

    PI DRY TECHNOLOGY

permanent waterproofed fibers that allows full breathability - better than the industry's DWR which will wash out after ~20 cycles.

Wow, wish I would have bought leg warmers sooner. I although thought they would be uncomfortable on not necessary with cycling tights, but these offer such great flexibility they have become an essential part of my cycling gear. This past weekend, I did my first 100 mile ride and it started out cold and drizzly. I thought it would warm up and I would take off the knee warmers. Instead it stayed unexpectedly cold, and I rode with the warmers for 8 hours and never felt uncomfortable at all. They just work!

    Thank you for the review

There are certain times of year when it can be really difficult to figure out exactly what to wear when heading out for a bike ride, especially here in Utah; it could be 55 degrees when you head out and 80 degrees when you head home. With temperature ranges like that, you need clothing that is easily removable and packable, and Pearl Izumi's Elite Thermal line of arm, knee, and leg warmers fits the bill perfectly. I especially like the wide elastic grippers at the top; many warmers use thin elastic with an even thinner strip of silcon that can feel really constrictive, even though it might actually be looser than Pearl's wide band. These are just super comfortable all-around.

I like the knee warmers a lot. They are furry on the inside which makes them extra warm. I bought the size small and they are tight which I love because there isn't anything more annoying and uncomfortable than knee/leg warmers slowly slipping down while you ride. The price is very good for the quality of the product! don't hesitate.
