Cyclone Gloves

A little water and a breeze can be welcome relief from heat. On the other hand, they bring discomfort when the mercury drops. The Pearl Izumi Cyclone Glove's wind- and water-resistant fabrics block that digit-chilling combination so your hands won't suffer on damp, cold rides.

One key fabric to the Cyclone is Pearl Izumi's Elite Softshell. It offers your hands technical moisture management and wind protection with a comfortable fit. This softshell has three elements; a stretchable knit face to avoid restriction of movement, a waterproof laminate to seal against precipitation, and an insulating, soft-against-the-skin inner to retain warmth and wick perspiration. The Elite is primarily located on the back of the hand, except along the thumb where a windproof fleece is strategically placed for wiping duty.

At the palm, Pearl opted for durable and tactile Clarion synthetic leather and combined it with gel padding to offer long-ride comfort. But, they use the padding sparingly, placing it to specifically help alleviate pressure against the wrist's nerves. Pearl calls this Comfort Bridge Gel, and it effectively helps to reduce the onslaught of numbness without hindering the rider/bicycle interface.

Also key to a seamless interface is a highly anatomic shape and fit. Pearl optimizes dexterity by placing extreme care in every panel that makes up the cyclone glove. This allows effortless shifting and braking, with the added benefit of silicon screened fingertips for lever grip. That same approach ensures the weather-blocking Gauntlet wrist with hook-and-loop closure will prevent exposed skin without cutting off circulation or pinching.

Optimized for weather conditions with limited visibility, Pearl Izumi ensured this warm, water- and wind-resistant glove has plenty of reflective elements. The Cyclone Glove comes in sizes Small through XX-Large, and either Red, Black, Blue, or yellow.
