Very Comfy

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

The best word to describe these is "comfortable." They are made of a rather soft fabric that's really pleasant, especially on longer rides. I find that some of my other shorts really bother me by rubbing against my leg when I'm pedaling. These don't, and I think a lot of that is due to their fabric.

This softness does come at a price, though. Mud and dirt really soak into the material, and it is not at all easy to wash them clean. I don't find this to be a huge issue, because I am just wearing these for riding. It's not that big of a deal for them to be super clean for me; I bought them to get em dirty.

Other than that small issue they're great. They have 2 smaller pockets up near your waist. They are still big enough to fit a phone in, but I probably wouldn't keep my phone there the whole ride for fear of it falling out. Then they have a nice big zippered pocket on the right towards the knee. And they have velcro straps at the waist to tighten them up if the shorts are a bit big on you.

Great Fit

i bought these for my father in law and he was really stoked on them. They travel and do a lot of bike riding and these will be a great addition. he was looking for something that had a liner and were a comfortable fit and these did the job!

    flexible looser fit

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

great mtb shorts. nice big pocket for a phone. Seems pretty high quality, I had a similar pair for the last 3 years and they held up really well.

OK - Not Worth The Price

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The material these are made of is weirdly soft and absorbent. Mud and just dirt in general soaks right in and doesn't come out. Also, anything you scuff against them that is dark will leave a mark that doesn't come off. I've washed these a few times now and almost every spot where there was even a drop of mud or I brushed against a tire is still there. The butt area is all brown and it looks like I have chronic diarrhea. I don't know why you would make pants designed for mountain biking that doesn't repel dirt better or is at least washable. I bought the orange ones and I can already tell that in a few months they aren't going to be orange anymore and will be completely trashed.

They fit well and are really comfortable. Not as loose and baggy as other mountain biking pants with a little more athletic fit, but by no means tight, which is what I like. If you're going to wear pads under these, they probably won't work. They come to mid-knee when standing and rest just above the knee when riding and don't move much. The waist is velcro adjustable to give you a few extra or few less inches and dial in how you want them to hug your waist. Other than the mud sucking of the fabric, it's actually really comfortable, light, breathable, and ever-so-slightly stretchy.

The chamois isn't great, but it's OK. For some reason it attaches to the shell, but that just makes them fit weird so you can unsnap them and just wear them like underwear. They kind of ride up on me a bit, fit tight around my thighs, and just kind of fit awkwardly all around. Half the time I don't even wear them.

I would have nothing bad to say about these pants if they were $30-40 because that's what they feel like; something cheap you'd buy and deal with being trashed until they die. But for $80+ you should be able to wear them more than once without them looking like you've been wearing them for 10 years. Overall, they are designed well and they have the potential to be great pants, but they're just not. I really want to like these, but every time I look at all the stains I just shake my head in disbelief.
