Description

Tyrolean Bike Short

The Patagonia Women's Tyrolean Bike Short lets you take tight turns and raw trails with comfort and performance, no matter where you roam. The polyester fabric is lightweight, dries quickly during long days working hard on the trail and is designed to stretch and move as one garment—its seams are sonic-welded for this very purpose, and it shaves off additional ounces as well. Aside from the nearly seamless, chafe-free fit, slimmed legs provide a contoured fit that stays in place during long rides, and a curved waistband follows the natural shape of your hips for extended comfort. The Tyrolean does not come with liners, but is designed alongside the Patagonia Endless Ride Liner Shorts and includes snap loops that pair with those or the Patagonia Dirt Craft Bike Shorts.
  • Bike short built for trailblazing rugged routes
  • Polyester blend offers highly breahtable, stretchy performance
  • Sonic-welded seams eliminate chafing and promote flexibility
  • Adjustable waist can cinsh tight with one hand while riding
  • Snap loops designed to pair with certain Patagonia liners
  • Short inseam pairs well with knee pads

How to Measure:

Waist:
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
Hip:
Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
Inseam:
Inseam will vary depending on style; when lengths are offered, "short" is 30, "regular" is 32 and "long" is 33. Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.

I LOVE Patagonia... maybe to a fault. But I refused to keep these pants. The waist is TTS with other Patagonia pants, but there is little wiggle room for these when you have a liner underneath. I wanted something loose since I don't like biking in my liner, and these ended up being just as tight. The main reason for my return is that the fabric is so thin that I worry it will snag and tear after one encounter with a bush. For the price, I would not recommend these. There are two pockets on each side that a key would definitely puncture.

I don't ride many trails but do ride gravel and mid-length road rides. I generally despise the skintight peloton look, so I wanted something to wear over a liner that I also felt comfortable enough wearing in a public place. These are great. They're not too baggy so that I'm riding with a ton of extra fabric; my last Patagonia mountain bike shorts feel bulky in comparison. The side pockets are stretchy and I can even fit my oversized iphone in them if needed. I wasn't sure if I needed to size up - these are slim fitting - but since they have a ton of stretch, I stayed with the smaller size. The length is even good for a shorty like me; most mountain bike shorts' inseams are too long and go past my knees.
