Very Weird Fit

I ordered these and only tried them on for a minute. The fit was very different than any bib I've tried.

    1) They come up very high which is a feature for the pockets they have but I wasn't nuts about it.

    2) Maybe I should have sized down but everything felt good except the leg bands were loose on me. On most shorts it is just the opposite. I think all the combination baggy plus liner shorts I have tried the baggies will fit OK at the waist and the liner will be at least one size to small.

If the legs had fit right I would have kept these and gotten used to the way they came up really high.

    My Customers Impressions

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Here is one of my customers impression on the shorts:

I tried it on for my work commute and then put it to the test this pas Saturday on a mountain cross, a 65 miles ride of almost all gravel roads, up and down the Virginia blue ridge parkway. I do not own other versions of the Patagonia bike liners. Here are my thoughts:

    - I am a 33" waist and ordered a large. For most cycling clothing, that would be a snug but adequate fit. This bib fit, however, is generous, and I think I could I sized down. So my advice there, don't size up!
    - The bib does no offer any sort of muscle compression; probably because priority is given to breathability (side mesh). This is not something that all bib/liners offer, so not a negative, but something to be aware of.
    - The chamois is a lot thicker than what I am used to. You don't feel it much while riding, but you're going to want to take it off as soon as possible afterwards; or you have to walk around with the feeling of having a loaded diaper...
    - The storage is great, but I don't care too much for the water bottle pocket because it puts a pressure point on the spine (also, I have enough cages on my cross bike). But in my opinion, it's a good option, especially for MTB where many frames can't fit cages.
    - For this long ride, I used it with the Patagonia dirt roamer. I liked the ability to secure the shorts to the bib. But the bib works great with other shorts too.

Overall, I am happy. Being made by Patagonia, I anticipate years of use/abuse. The price is right.

    Awesome bib chamois

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

Very lightweight and breathable bib chamois that stays in place and works great. I've never been a huge fan of bibs while mountain biking, mainly because most of them were either too tight or uncomfortable to layer with baggies. These bib shorts are snug enough to stay in place but not uncomfortable when hanging out off the bike. Highly recommend trying these as they've quickly become my favorite chamois in the drawer!
