It's a tape measure

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

It's a tape measure and it's made by Park Tool to measure things. Works well and comes in handy.

Measure stuff.

With this, you can measure how long things are! What a great feature!

Measure twice, cut once

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I would say that most tape measures, in my opinion, are all the same. What nice about this one is that it's a bit smaller than what you may find at home depot, lowes, etc since you typically wouldn't be measuring siding with this tape. Measures in standard and metric, retracts well, and stays in place when needed.

Tape measure

Bought this so I can measure frames and other things around the house. Does what it's meant to do, very accurate and compact.

better than doing math in your head

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I'm constantly scheming about my next bike build or reconfiguration. Many (international) companies list frame and parts (e.g. rack) dimensions including effective top tube, reach and stack in metric. I can use my Stanley tape and multiply by 2.54 or... just grab this Park tape and have both inch and centimeters at my fingertips when I'm stringing it across my bike for comparisons. You'll spend $5 on a tape measure that doesn't have metric--just buy this one first for your bike work bench.
