Park ToolPPL-1 PolyLube 1000 Grease
Item # PAR0160
Protect from within.
Park Tool PPL-1 Polylube is a poly-urea based lubricant developed specifically for bicycle maintenance and repair. Polylube 1000 has an extremely high shear strength to protect vital parts under extreme conditions. Polylube 1000 also repels moisture and is compatible with conventional greases. This grease is safe for elastomer forks and hydraulic shock seals. Polyurea greases are considered excellent bearing greases. The National Lubricating Grease Institute states in their guide, "Polyurea greases are widely recognized as on the best ball bearing greases available."

Decent

This is a great common grease. Pretty waterproof and keeps everything moving well. Love this when working with loose ball bearings or hubs but prefer lighter grease for sealed bearings.

Use this to service my headset every time. Its nice. You don't need the grease gun either. Just poke a SMALL hole in the top and you'll be golden.

Simple enough. It is lube, you need it, don't be caught home without it.

Tried and true shop grease for all your small needs. I use this on all threads and to repack freshly cleaned bearings. Great product in a durable package that I can trust in my travel tool bag and in the tool chest. If you are putting together your home mechanic kit, add one of these tubes in the mix; your bike deserves it!

Must have for any shade tree mechanic
Bottom brackets, pivot bolts, rebuilding old school headsets on the vintage bike, just about every job. Not for brake rotors, but you knew that...

Once I found out how often you should be lubing I grabbed a couple so I could do it myself at home. A must have.

just a little grease!

I have great experience with everything park tool that I own and Polylube grease is OK, but it`s more like good stuff for the kids bike, the reason for the 3 stars is the auto wording "Adequate for the job"..

It's always better with lube!

Put some here, put some there, put some everywhere! Great as assembly lube, thread lube, axle lube, you name it, it will probably lube it. Obviously not recommended for chains, but before you gunk it up with dirt - it will lube it!

Does the Park Tool PolyLube 1000 tube have a 9/16" thread that is compatible with a grease gun? (I.E. Finish Line or Pedro's) http://www.competitivecyclist.com/pedros-grease-injector?s=a

Lube It Up!
- Familiarity:

Before I got schooled on the Poly 1000, I was using various automotive greases I had around the garage for all my thread needs and whatnot. Well after doing some late night researching, many things pointed me towards the Poly 1000; something that is actually made specifically for bikes. From pedal spindles and BB cups, even to fussy no-go seatposts, this stuff rocks and gets it done! The tube size version of this stuff lasts a looong time, and if you happen to stumble upon the "tub" version, well, that'll last you a lifetime.

Lots of lube for little price
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
4 ounces is more than I thought. Plenty of lube for the price and I'm sure it will last a very long time. It's a thick, dark blue grease. Just cut the nozzle tip with some scissors and squeeze. I've used it to install my pedals and practically anything with bolts to prevent them from seizing in the future should I ever need to remove or adjust them. Please note that these aren't for your chain. You'll want a chain lube for that.

A little goes a long way. Used on pedal installs and any bolts I have. The size of this tube is going to last forever.

Essential tool for any home mechanic
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
In addition to having wrenched in shops, I like to keep a decent set of tools at home. My third purchase after a good set of allen wrenches and some chain lube was Park Tool Polylube. The one 4 oz. tube has lasted upwards of 4 years of prepping bolts, rebuilding loose ball hubs, and and old headsets. There are higher end greases out there for specific jobs, but as a do-it-all grease for the shop, it is a great thing to have on hand. It is grease, so don't do any wrenching in clothes that you plan to meet the significant other's parents, because it won't wash out easy.

Great Grease
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
If you are like me, you are tired of putting bacon grease on your bike because it makes you too hungry when you ride. This grease is great. It does exactly what bacon grease cannot, it doesn't make you want to eat it. I put it on my seat post and thru axles and then wipe it off with a rag. It last for a long time and definitely does the job!
