If youâre in the market for a pizza cutter and youâre a bike person, get it! Itâs sturdy and cuts like a HATTORI HANZO. I priced them, itâs in the same ball park as a mid grade cutter from target. Enjoy!
Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Definitely an upgrade from whatever pizza cutter you've been using. The handle is both laterally stiff and vertically compliant, making quick work of the crust as well any toppings which may find themselves in the path of the PZT-2. The hub on the cutting wheel is precision-engineered to retain smoothness over multiple seasons. However, should the need to service the axle arise, a 4mm Allen wrench is required (not included).
After coming home from a long day out on the bike and having a homemade pizza waiting for you on the counter, there's no better way to cut into that sucker than with the Park Tool Pizza Tool. Not only is this miniature bicycle shaped pizza cutter a nice decoration for the windowsill and a great conversation piece for company, but its sturdy, large, and cuts like a champ.
There's no reason you shouldn't have this in your kitchen right now. How many bikes do you have? For which occasions? I'm sure you have some fancy 11-speed internally geared hub on your urban commuter that you ride down to your local co-op to pick up a nice organic, gluten-free, free range pizza AND you manage to get it home safely. But how are you going to slice that pizza?
The one thing I genuinely was worried about was how easy it would be to slice my finger off when I was drunk and wanting to smash a pizza. After getting drunk and burning a pizza to test my theory, I found it is damn near impossible, so I'm sold! Sits on my counter, always gets a laugh, and actually does its job quite splendidly (as well as easy to wash). Considering buying a fleet of them as gifts for friends and family that are bike nerds, perfect giggle worthy gift.
