I have both. The guide pin works great for QR wheels but that is quickly becoming dated so I picked up the non-pin version for the extra versatility. A little extra care is needed to make sure it is perfectly flush without a guide but works like a champ. The 12mm pin version is also on my wishlist as soon as they come back in stock as XD cassettes can sometimes be a bear. Another great tool from Park, will last a lifetime plus some and absolutely required for any home mechanic's box.

Lots of fancy crombie tools out there with integrated handles to drool over but this classic piece can go anywhere and gets the job done. Period. In most tool boxes I would assume. pick one up for your next drive train upgrade or maintenance project.

Simply, strong and classic tool from Park. I prefer the one with the 12mm pin for use on my mountain bike, but this is the classic that can be used for all bikes and axle sizes.

I use this to remove the cassette on my road bike, swapping it back and forth to my Wahoo Kickr Core. This is a sturdy tool that I can only imagine will last the rest of my life. This pairs well with the Park Tool Cassette Pliers and a helpful tip when using this lockring is to secure your skewer in place to keep it from jiggling around.

Perfect tool for the job

Removing cassettes is super easy with this Park tool. I’ve used this on SRAM force and Apex but it will work with a wide range of cassettes. Takes a few seconds to remove or reinstall with this badboy, a crescent wrench and the Park Tool cassette pliers.
