Scrub up.

Using an extra-large solvent reservoir and a series of rotating brushes, Park Tool's CM-5.2 Cyclone Chain Scrubber makes quick work of routine maintenance. At the bottom of the reservoir, magnet keeps abrasive particles from re-entering the drivetrain for longer life and smooth performance.

For quick cleanup, a durable sponge material pulls solvent from the chain effectively reducing drips and mess. The Park Tool CM-5.2 Cyclone Chain Scrubber works with just about all chains (5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11-speed) and holds two fluid ounces of solvent.

  • Plastic casing
  • 2oz solvent reservoir
  • Internal sponge

Solid for home mechanic-a little fragile

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I'm on my second or 3rd park chain tool now (generally getting a few years of use out of each). For the occasional, careful use, this thing is great. The scrubbers and sponge and magnet take a dirt and oil mucked up chain back to sparkling with some simple green or other solvent/degreaser. I think you can buy replacement internals if you ever wear them out from use (I tend to break it before I reach the useful life of the internals--see my next comment). If there is any downside--and I think this applies to all 'home use' chain cleaners of this style--is its built of plastic. Keeps cost down I'm sure--but knock it off your garage workbench, crunch it in a bag in the back of your truck for a Moab roadtrip or get a little crazy running the chain through there and you are likely to crack or break the plastic body. Park introduced a metal body, 'shop quality' version for about 4x the price. If you're hard on stuff, maintaining a fleet of bikes and/or intend to be a lifelong cyclist, you may want seek out that one (Park CM 25).

Chain Love??? :'(

Keeps the chain nice and clean and ready to lube up. Simple machine at a great price. Don't really think technology change a lot around this item.

    Keep that Chain Sparkling

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I use this in conjunction with the Park Tool ChainBrite and it works phenomenal! Very easy to use and clean and nothing will get your chain cleaner. Instead of attempting to scrub with a brush, do yourself a favor and just invest in one of these... trust me (from experience).

    The Tool

Highly recommend this tool for someone who wants to keep their bike in tip top shape in a relatively short amount of time. Ease of use is very high and the chain looks a thousand times better after use.

      Necessary

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The chain is definitely the dirties, grimiest part of my bike. Fill this bad boy up with some chain cleaner, clamp it on and start crankin! Does an excellent job of cleaning not only the chain but the cassette and the chainring as well. Something to note... you will get a lot of nasty liquid coming out the bottom of this thing as you run your chain through, make sure nothing of importance awaits below.

      Clean and Effective

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Gone are the messy old days of scrubbing on my chain with a brush only to get filthy and not really get my chain perfectly clean. This things is simple in operation, just snap it on the chain with cleaner and spin the crank, and effective in getting your chain squeaky clean without splattering old grease and dirt in every direction. I love it.

      Love it, but it broke!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

A clean drivetrain is a beautiful thing, and this helped to get my chains cleaner than I ever had before. Super easy to use, and the brushes hit the chain from all sides. Unfortunately, I was only able to use it maybe five times before it broke while I was using it. As you should see from the picture, one of the little plastic tabs that holds a metal spindle as an anchor for the metal clamp broke off so I don't have a clamp on one end now (hopefully that sentence made sense). I was running the chain through it and it simply broke off and I heard the clamp hit the floor. I will still be able to salvage it if I just clamp it down with my hand or use tape, but it was disappointing to have it break so soon due to a tiny, weak spot of plastic. It is a 5 star product, but I have to knock a star off for durability.

      Love it, but it broke!

      Makes life easier

I pair this with simple green and it makes life super easy.

      Easy to keep it clean

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I used to use a rag and solvent to clean my chain, but after purchasing this chain tool it's been far too easy to keep my chain clean.... like thoroughly clean. Not only does your bike looked blinged out, but a clean chain reduces wear on your cassette, chainring, and derailleur. So keep it clean!

      Quick and (not)Dirty

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The reason I like this so much is that it makes cleaning your chain a fast and clean process. Instead of using a bike toothbrush that can lead to greasy water particles splattering around, this seems to keep everything contained in a nice, neat package.
It's so easy to use, and if you clean and re-lube your chain frequently (as you should), it's a great tool to have.

      Treat yo' self

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I appreciate the level of thought that was put into such a small and simple device. The magnet at the bottom of the reservoir collects small pieces of metal to prevent the brushes from grinding potentially damaging material into your drivetrain, while an integrated sponge soaks up excess cleaner from the chain. Seems simple, but you won't find those features on similar models from competitors. And all for an equivalent, if not lesser price. Is it a necessary tool? No. Is it a bit of a luxury item? Maybe, but it makes life that much easier and helps me be more proactive about keeping my drivetrain clean.

      Perfect.

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

It Does its Job extremely well. I love that all the brushes can be removed so you can clean the Tool after use with ease. IT is great!!

4 stars because if you don't keep the chain centered on the crank chainring, you can easily drop the chain

      Works Great

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Used this to clean a chain that hadn't been touched in 4 years and it was amazing. The chain looks as good as it did when it was new. Best part is that this tool is just so ridiculously easy to use.

      Best out there

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

we dont need no squeakin' chain

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Does exactly what it says and gets your chain nice and sparkly clean, will never use anything else again. It's super easy to setup and quickly scrubs all the muck off your chain, even with a soapy solution instead of heavy degreasers. There are several brushes that hit the chain from all angles and really gets into the nooks.

      This works great.

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This tool does what it say it will! Easy to use and removes all dirt and oil from chain quickly and effortlessly. Well made and the brushes and sponge is replaceable. Love tools that work and do what you expect them to do. The Cyclone Scrubber works!

      Works Great!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've had my chain cleaner for over a year and it works great with Park Chainbrite. I've tried it with other degreasers but nothing has came close to using this with Park Chainbrite. It is very easy and simple to use and does an amazing job.

      Simple & Effective

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Are you a cyclist? Do you like a squeaky clean chain and smoother shifting? If so, buy one of these bad boys.

Lean your bike against the wall, or in a work stand if you're a rich fancy pants, fill up the reservoir with whatever household degreaser you have, and pedal backwards, keeping the chain centered with the crank chainring. Combine this with a cassette brush, and you've got a solid transmission cleaning system that will keep you running smooth between full overhauls.

Giving it 4 stars because if you don't keep the chain centered on the crank chainring, you'll drop the chain or bind it up in the derailleur.
