you need this

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Here is my preferred chainwhip for use on my bikes. This isn't a tool that I use all that often, but it's a must-have for those times when I need to remove and install a cassette. The handle on the SR-2.2 is more comfortable, but the price is right on this SR-11 for occasional use.

Heavy Duty

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

You could clobber someone with this thing, which I guess is a good feature to have in a shop tool. Plus, it's 1/2 the price of the Shimano chainwhip. When you're working on delicate parts such as carbon wheels and hubs it's nice to be able to apply gentle leverage and this tool is heavy enough to permit a gentle turn to unlock any cassette.

Have an 11 speed cassette? get this!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is a must-have for the home tool kit. Works as described and makes changing cassettes that much easier. The hex tool at the end the handle is a good thought but you won't really use it...ever.

Crack that Whip

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Actually I did crack one of the links on mine within the first or second time using this chainwhip. I was able to pop the pin back in so I could continue to use it though and have used it at least a dozen more times since. I'm pretty sure there's a lifetime warranty on Park tools, but since I've been able to still make it work, I've been too lazy to take them up on a warranty claim.

Can't go wrong with Park

I was in the market for a new chain whip and this one works great. It's solid and the opposite end works with Park cassette removers. It is also compatible with 11 speed setups if that's your thing.
