Stay hydrated.

Osprey doesn't mess around when it comes to keeping you comfortable on the trail, and that's evident in the design of its Hydraulics LT Hydration Reservoir. Made with twin-welded chevron baffles, this reservoir limits sloshing, stabilizes water, and maintains a flat profile in your pack. Osprey equipped the Hydraulics LT with a convenient Slide-Seal closure for easy-filling at the kitchen sink or spring, and the magnetic bite valve ensures you don't loose any water until you're good and ready to wet your whistle.

  • BPA- and phthalate-free TPU bladder
  • Twin-welded chevron baffles
  • Slide-Seal closure
  • Carry handle
  • Magnetic bite valve

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've had many other hydration sleeves, and they've all had some issue - the nozzle leaked, sealing it was hard, filling was hard, or something along those lines.

This one is perfect! Lightweight, and I love the magnetic bite valve! It comes with a magnet to put on your chest strap, so it will stay in place. I use this with my Osprey Tempest and it's perfect!

Perfect for trail use!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I use this with my Nathan VapurKrar vest and it works great! The detachable hose makes it really easy to get in and out of the vest. The size is perfect and is a lot easier to clean than other bladders.

Perfect for trail use!

I bought this one as a replacement. I like the easy handle and the wide opening to quickly add ice or just water. Great product!

Great lightweight reservoir

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have the old 1.5L LT reservoir, and this one is a lot better. Much lighter weight, I actually really like the fold top opening, and it seems to be very well constructed (like everything Osprey makes). Great product at a great price, I can't wait to get out and use it this summer!

Better than Camelbak-

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

In the past I've always used and trusted Camelbak reservoirs and they are great.

I thought I would try out the Osprey Reservoir due to the fact that I have the Osprey Tempest pack and thought they might be more compatible. I went with the 2.5 L in case I'm going long distances without access to water, as 2.5 L can sustain me for about 14 miles.

I used the for the first time hiking the North Rim to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. It fit perfectly in the slot for the pouch on my 65L Osprey VIVA. I would suggest to leave a little room in your pack to help you load it without feeling like it's going to burst. It is very lightweight, and you can physically feel that it is lighter than it's Camelbak alternative.

I love that it has a press and fold seal. it's super leak proof and easy to fill.

The only recommendation I have on this reservoir is to fill it not quite to the fill line. When you close it if it's too full, it will spill and be wet before you seal it closed.

Sarah - thank you for the great review! Enjoy!

Fantastic Upgrade!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have owned the old style of Osprey bladders and this is an excellent upgrade from the old system. The new closing mechanism is great because it can't be put on crooked and also doesn't stick when it's dirty. The old screw style closure held up for a year or so and then got really hard to open and close correctly which lead to some major leakage. The mouth piece has also be resigned and cannot be accidentally opened if it snags on something. The internal baffles also help keep the shape on the bladder and I have yet to have any flow issues because it doesn't collapse on itself. Overall this new bladder is a great upgrade and I highly recommend it!

Thank you for the review - I really appreciate the upgrade in design. Really great updates!

Stay Hydrated

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is the best hydration system I have ever used. The quick release hose system makes filling the reservoir simple and convenient, no need to put your entire pack under the water source. The bite valve is also great, never worry about getting dripped on again.

Right on, Fritz. Thanks for the great review!

Best Bladder

Always love the Osprey products, especially the bladders. This new one works great just like the previous version, I love the new connector in the middle of the hose that lets you detach it.

    Worthy Hydration Bladder but leaked...

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Took this on a 4 week trip along the AT. It fits well in my Osprey pack but the clip on the magnetic attachment did not fit on any part of my pack. I liked the bite value which did not "dribble" like my MRS one. The detachable hose worked well with my water filter so I usually did not have even take it out of the pack to fill it up. I liked the one way valve preventing the water from gushing out when disconnecting the hose. Having the zip top rather than a cap took a bit to get used to but it does make it thinner when stuffing in the pack. The blurb here says it comes with a stiffener but my did not come with one (didn't want the weight anyway)

Now for the bad part. It worked well for the first 2 weeks. I rarely had to even take it out my back but one morning as I went to fill it, I found a stream of water running out. It seems that it was punctured in the upper right corner (about 1" down and 1" from the edge). I checked all inside the badder compartment of my pack and found nothing that could have caused this. A careful inspection found a second "near" puncture in the exact spot on the opposite side. I can only conclude that something happened in shipping or before I got it and had weakened it. The pressure inside from use just made it push thru. It was NOT a seam problem as typical with bladders. Not sure if I can get it fixed (beyond the emergency glue/tape repair I did in the field) but if you get one, be sure to inspect it real carefully. (see photo)

    Osprey bladder

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Ordered a couple of these for the backpacks I got. Fits great inside and very easy to fill up. The bite valve makes it easy to drink out of without spilling any water.

    Great Hydration Bladder System

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I am a huge fan of Osprey's Hydration Reservoirs - they are durable, lightweight and have a fantastic hose/valve system that works well every time and doesn't leak. I am also a huge fan of the magnetic valve that it comes with - just attach half of it to your shoulder strap, and the valve will never be dangling or out of reach (this is a great feature for mountain biking, as taking a drink become second nature and is easy to do on even the roughest trails.

    Bladder Bliss

I was needing a new bladder for my Mira 18. At first I was hoping for the original style but could not find I opted for the "newer" style with the roll top. It has proved to be a little lighter in weight. I was hoping for a 3.0L but ended up grabbing the 2.5L. The detachable hose is sweet for removing the bladder to fill it and chill it. Magnetic clip works better than the "older" versions, well for me at least :), seems to sit more evenly . All in all, Osprey rules! Packs are awesome and bladders are durable and lightweight. Get one and Get outside :) !!

Hooked on the new system from Osprey, fits in all existing packs, easy to fill, clean and maneuver inside the pack. The hose detaches halfway down making it easy to remove the reservoir without having to remove the entire hose. Bite valve has the same magnetic piece you're accustomed too with Osprey packs.

Essential if you have an Osprey pack

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

If you have an Osprey backpack that can hold a water reservoir make sure you use it. It's an easy way to add a lot of water to your hike. The Osprey Hydraulics LT Hydration Reservoir slips right in. I would recommend watching the video attached. There is some great info on how to use, clean, and remove the plastic flavor some people taste.

Awesome, Jason! Extremely helpful for a born again hiker unfamiliar with all the new hydration technology. Thanks for a very helpful video as the Hydrapaks come with zero instructions.
