Ortlieb bags have been my go-to bags and I now have 3 of them for my 3 bikes. The great thing is their mounting system where you can put on all 3 bikes and then swap bags for the occasion. I have different size bags and they all serve a purpose. The only thing you'll want to avoid is getting a larger bag like the 1.6L on a mountain bike with a dropper post. The bag could be too large and hit the rear tire when the post is dropped. I use the smaller 0.5L ones when I take my mountain bike out and it isn't an issue. It can take jumps and very bumpy terrain no problem.

It?s well made. Great materials. Pretty light for its capacity. It?s waterproof. It expands or contracts, as necessary. It holds up to a ton of ?stuff!? I like it once it?s on and attached. It?s mount is a pain; for the life of me I don?t see why they use Phillips head screws over allen for the mount to seat and the adjusting mechanism is frustrating, at best. Have fun sliding it on and getting it the lock to catch before you?ve uttered an expletive. It?s noisy - raise the dead noisy when riding - unless you wrap everything to keep from bouncing and sliding around on the inside. And, yet, I like it and I?ll keep it. But, I beg you, please don?t make me fuss with that &%$#@ mount ever again!

Like many cyclists, I have accumulated a ridiculous number of seat bags, searching for The One. This is it, or rather, These Are The Ones. Because these bags can be swapped in and out effortlessly and securely, that means the different sizes can used according to the day, the season and the ride. The biggest one verges on saddle bag size, the small one is for every day. All of them are waterproof thanks to the roll top design, which also means these bags don't rattle since sizing the bag according to the load is quick and easy.
