Description

Why We Like The Aluminum Pedal

Born ready to grip it and rip it, the OneUP Components Aluminum Pedal offers a grippy, smooth-rolling, and durable platform for big days out on the bike. It's designed from stealth rubber down and shaped with a subtle convex profile to provide you with more grip thanks to the pedal sitting in the natural arch of your foot. This shape also creates a razor-thin leading edge and optimal clearance to help deflect off obstacles on the trail. Each pedal has four double-sealed full-cartridge bearings, and no bushings, to toughen up its durability and eliminate any axle play. And let the 40 rear-loading custom hexagonal removable pins alleviate your concerns of slippage by ensuring maximum grip. OneUp also gave it a unique cassette tool lock ring to make bearing servicing fast and easy.

Due to the deep counterbore of these crank arms, OneUp Alloy pedals are not compatible with SRAM carbon cranks. OneUp Alloy pedals are not compatible with protective crank boots. We recommend removing crank boots before installation.

  • Durable pedal blending smooth operation with max grip
  • Aluminum construction has ideal strength-to-weight ratio
  • Subtle convex profile rests comfortably underfoot
  • Sealed cartridge bearings deliver smooth performance
  • Removable hexagonal pins ensure high levels of traction
  • Wide platform design for increased stability

Great product easy install. Super wide platform that makes you feel like standing on the ground. The only thing keeping it away from 5* is that one pedal squeaks. Tried reinstalling using silicone on the face that seats against crank. Thinking maybe graphite? I feel for the price I shouldn’t need to worry about this. Don’t hear when I’m going hard but when I slow down it drives me nuts. If anyone at Backcountry or anyone else has a solution I’m all ears..

What is the pedal spindle metal?

Hi Damian, the spindles on this pedal are Chromoly Steel.

Only thing keeping from 5 stars is the price is $20 too much. Grinch green fits my bike great!

These peddles don't fit shuttle racks

The mounting point of the peddle is flared out just past the threads and that flare doesn't allow the peddle to fit large mountain bike shuttle racks.

Big platform for planting your shoes. Lots of high studs for grip. However, don’t accidentally rub your leg against these at the wrong angle. They are sharp.

Thanks for confirming that these can rip your legs. I had a different pair of pedals with similar grips that scarred my calf pretty good and can't figure out which pedals won't scar my shin or calf.

Great pedal with lots of grip. It has a large surface area for added comfort when shredding the gnarl!

Stripped two sets of SRAM xo1 cranks in less than 3 months. The new version of this pedal is terrible. My old ones are great but will never buy these pedals again.

OneUp website states these pedals are not compatible with SRAM carbon cranks due to the counterbore on the crank. Also, they are not compatible with crank boots without modification.

AWESOME

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

These pedals have nice big surface, and tacky grip. I wear Vans high top BMX shoes... and my feet stick to my pedals well.

I have some XX1 hollow carbon cranks that I like to protect with the plastic End caps. How can I utilize the 1up pedals while keeping my cranks protected? ( I borrowed a friends 1up’s but the pedals would not spin because of the plastic crank Protection on the end of the cranks)

It's one of the thinnest and grippiest pedals I've ever rode. However, the non-drive side keeps developing play from the bearings. I even contacted One-Up and they sent a new bearing kit at no charge. Rebuilt it, and it's fine for about 2 rides, then gets loose again. Have to rebuild it every week. Design flaw, bum product, or I just got a lemon, I don't know. But I am on the hunt for new pedals now.

Super grippy, Great feel on your feet. For me the perfect flat pedal.

Pretty legit!

I went from Crank Bros to One Up with a little nervousness. No nervousness needed, they're wonderful! I prefer the longer more aggressive spikes & think they really improve the ability to keep my foot in place. Check them out, plus I get endless compliments on them.

Are the pins adjustable? They look like they come out very far. Don't want to destroy my shoes when I take my road bike out with flat pedals.

I’ll pass on these pedals

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

Cool set of pedals but they do not work well with crank arm boots. Protecting my carbon cranks through rock gardens is a must!

You just need a pedal washer

Do pedal washers come with them? Are pedal washers specific to pedals/cranks or does any washer do?

Pedal washers typically fit any pedal since they all use the same thread spec. I have these one two sets of RaceFace carbon cranks with boots no problem, just use washer that came with the pedals (or maybe it came with the cranks?)

Which protective crank boots work with the oneup pedals? The oneup pedal comes in contact with sram boots and as a result does not spin freely.

True Blue

My previous set of sub-par peddles had my toes making contact with the front tire at extreme crank over. These have completely eliminated that. Tons of grip, these are an unexpected upgrade well worth the $$$.

It does a great job.

These pedals do an incredible job. They are grippy, and they are wide enough for my size 13 feet. Two enthusiastic thumbs up.

Does it come with 2 pedals or do you have to buy 1at a time

Hi Donovan, Pedals are sold in pairs of 2. Thanks for asking!
