DRT5 Helmet
After taking a bit of a hiatus from the mountain bike world, Oakley is back with a new helmet that's designed, engineered, and tested by expert riders, including a close collaboration with 3x World Champion Greg Minnaar. Made for trail riding and enduro racing, the DRT5 Helmet offers the protection needed to confidently rip down technical descents, along with extensive ventilation for those unforgiving climbs back to the top. Standout features include an innovative eyewear stowing mechanism that securely fastens your sunglasses to the top of the helmet during extended climbs or long breaks, as well as a trusty BOA FS1 360-degree fit system for a comfortable and easily-adjustable fit. A tough polycarbonate shell molded to a shock-absorbing EPS liner protects against high and low-speed impacts, while the MIPS Brain Protection System guards against harmful rotational forces experienced during certain types of crashes.

Visor nut comes loose and falls out

Good helmet except the visor nut. Oakley has no replacement parts for this helmet. I have not been able to find a replacement that will fit. I believe this to be a design issue, multiple people have reported the same issue.

After two months my visor nut got loose and fell off during a ride. Due to its design it’s almost impossible to find a replacement. Oakley of no help. Have seen other reviews saying the same thing. Poor design and poor service from Oakley. Have to use duct tape to keep the visor from flapping. Disappointed as this is a premium helmet. Small flaw but details like this ruin an otherwise great helmet. Sucks I have to use tape to hold together a $200 helmet.

Sweat Gutter works fantastic!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
This helmet was a major step up from my fox flux. The best feature is the sweat gutter. Once you have the helmet snugged up it works great. No more sweat dripping in your eyes! The boa closure is also great allows a custom fit. Venting works as advertised. All around great helmet!

I have to disagree... the only way the sweat gutter works is if you crank the helmet down tight to form a good seal with your forehead. But that’s not ideal when climbing, which is when you’re sweating. Thankfully they include a regular pad but the top pad needs to be thicker for better cushioning against the top of the head. Love the glasses clips tho.
