Description

Why We Like The X-Celsius Arctic GTX Cycling Shoe

With a GORE-TEX membrane and a neoprene collar, the X-Celsius Arctic GTX Cycling Shoe keeps our feet warm while we pedal through winter days. Because we value comfort, we appreciate the SLW2 dial that helps us dial in our perfect fit and the EVA insole that adds cushioning and support. This shoe is for the cold, wet, wild, and windy days we push ourselves to ride through.

  • Stiff and warm mountain biking shoe for wet and cold days
  • Rattler GORE-TEX membrane for added protection
  • SLW2 dial for micro-adjustments as needed
  • Arctic 4Layer insole with EVA for thermal insulation
  • Reflective inserts provide added visibility on the road

Warm shoe with a design flaw (for me)

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Fit:
True to size

The good: The lower of this shoe is warm, stiff, grippy to walk in and hugs my foot when tightened with the boa-like closure. The deal breaker for me: the neoprene ankle cuff is stretchy but wide and has no way to cinch it closed, I have skinny ankles so there was more than a half inch of space between the cuff and my leg which was perfect for allowing water to run down and wet my socks and eventually inside the shoe as well. I really don’t understand this design, what is the point of a waterproof shoe with a big opening in the top? I have an old pair of Northwave Celsius shoes that were amazing, lasted me 6 years of frequent use but these are being returned.
