Being prepared just got easier.
The Norrøna Bitihorn Hip Pack is so small and lightweight that you might not even notice you're wearing it. But, you'll definitely notice the convenience of having your water bottles handy when you get thirsty and a compressible jacket close by when the weather turns cold or wet.

Water Bottle Pocket
(FYI I drain the bottle before a decent to prevent it from jostling around on my back.)
Pack it in.
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Purchased this hip pack to:
A. Suss out Norrona quality. - Check.
B. Join the hip pack movement on the mountain bike. - Double Check.
The Norrona Bitihorn Hip Pack - 366cu in. is everything I hoped it would be. The organization is simple and satisfying. Because the pack's not necessarily designed for mountain biking, you won't find a roll out sleeve or lots of internal slots, but there is a large pocket inside the main compartment to keep a tube, tire irons and co2 separate from whatever else gets shoved in. In addition to the main compartment, the top zipper pocket is just the right size for keys, phone or bar. And the outer expandable mesh pocket will hold a light jacket in place, deep enough for small items you need frequent access to.
The pockets are each hip are large enough for a phone, or small camera, compact shirt or jacket even. And the water bottle pocket is snug w/ a cinch and elastic band to keep the bottle in place.
The pack itself is light with a wide range for waist adjustment. Forget the backpack, go with a hip pack.
