Why We Like The RLT 9 3-Star Rival 1 Gravel Bike
Niner is one brand that has mastered gravel as a discipline to craft bikes that are reliable and durable enough for when the pavement ends, and crunchy gravel paths begin. The RLT 9 3-Star Rival 1 Gravel Bike emphasizes the fun factor with our ride to make for a bike that delivers performance and agile handling, lightness, and speed. That, on top of the fact that the RLT 9 features a lightweight aluminum frame that keeps us from breaking open our piggy bank, makes for a solid steed that performs on the tarmac and off.
Accessing the Road Less Traveled with the RLT 9 is an easy feat. It's what the bike is built to do. With an affordable and versatile aluminum frame design, this Niner features a new, forged chainstay yoke that improves tire clearance and stiffness for a bike that can handle it all. Another upgrade comes in the form of an RDO (Race Day Optimized) carbon fork for lightness and stiffness that also improves compliance over those rough and tumble surfaces we love to surf. This build features a SRAM Rival 1 drivetrain with an 11-speed cassette for smooth and effortless shifting no matter if we're trudging up quick ups and downs or navigating our way through mountain passes.
Niner goes back to the basics in the best way with a few specific features. Internal cable routing makes for a super clean aesthetic for a start. Multiple rack, fender, and cargo mounts make carrying heavy loads up massive hills doable. This also gives us the option to fit everything from bottles to bags, racks to fenders. A PF30 bottom bracket shell makes it easy to fit a geared or single-speed drivetrain and mechanical or electronic shifting. If we're feeling rowdy, we can even throw a dropper post on there. The 12 x 100mm thru-axle and flat mount disc brake attachments are compatible with modern components, and the RDO fork features internal wire routing and fitment for a hub dynamo powered light to boot. All of this means the RLT 9 is a go-getter for gravel riding, bikepacking, and all the rest.
*Due to unprecedented demand in the global supply chain and the bike industry over the last 18 months, material weight and exact components are subject to change.
