Rocket Fuel.

Niner knows 29ers. Running the gamut from XC to enduro, it builds bikes that simply excel in the discipline that it is designed. The company recently updated the Jet, which was previously its XC weapon of choice, into more of a trail bike which left the door wide open for a new cross-country bike. Enter the RKT RDO, an outright fast short travel machine that’s got its eyes focused on the podium whether that's a short track event or a 24h solo race. The RKT 9 RDO 2-Star GX Eagle Complete Mountain bike represents an excellent value that won't hold you back once the starting gun is fired. The carbon frame is born to efficiently get you from point A to B as quickly as possible, and the 120mm fork and 90mm of squish in the rear are an excellent asset on technical race courses or weekend trail rides. Boost spacing helps improve the stiffness and you'll own every line and corner. Hope on the new RKT and you'll be climbing your fair share of mountains and podiums.

It's difficult to build a bike that blends the perfect attributes we want in a race bike that doesn't lean too heavily towards a twitchy, nervous race bike or a heavy inefficient beast. Niner's expertise in exclusively building big wheel bikes gives it the experience needed to find this balance and we are sure after one ride you will agree. The geometry is progressive using a short head tube paired with a long reach putting you in the perfect position to pick highspeed lines through rock gardens. Boost spacing and a super low standover height add to the responsive ride and let the bike remain agile in tight singletrack. Chainstays are a shortish 439mm, and when paired with the steep seattube angle helps scale the steepest walls and punchiest climbs. Off the race course, the RKT can tackle some pretty serious terrain too and clearance for up to a 2.6-inch tire can get this bike into some fun terrain.

The carbon fiber construction is as race optimized as the geometry. Niner uses its RDO Carbon Compaction System (CCS) so details like wall thickness and material distribution are flawless. This eliminates unnecessary weight and structural imperfections like resin pooling. In terms of suspension, Niner fine-tuned its CVA linkage and specifically designed the kinematics for a short-travel XC bike like the RKT 9 RDO. It won't hang up and is fully active on ledgy, square edge bump yet has plenty of anti-squat when you are on the gas. The firm pedaling platform encourages an efficient ride even with the shock wide open while still resisting harsh bottom-outs even when the trail is less buff than the typical XC course. Built up with the value-packed SRAM's GX Eagle 1x drivetrain, you better make some room on your trophy shelf.

  • AN XC race rocket built for speed
  • 120mm fork paired with 90mm shock keep you in control
  • Longer reach delivers line-cleaning confidence
  • Tight chainstays are snappy and quick with techy spots
  • Flawless RDO carbon frame feels weightless on-trail
  • Frame compatible with internal or external dropper
  • Boost axles increase tire clearance and wheel stiffness
  • Built with SRAM's GX Eagle 1x groupset
