A high-capacity hydration vest for the big marathons.
Prepare for intense marathons like the Hardrock 100 with―well, with a lot of training first, but also with the Nathan VaporCloud Hydration Vest. Dual stabilization and load lifter systems utilize two dual sternum straps that compresses the included 2-liter bladder and the rest
of your gear close to your body in order to provide a stable ride throughout the race. Wall mesh shoulder straps bring a
lot of breathability to help keep your shoulders sweat-free in warmer
weather, and the insulated reservoir pocket prevents your warm body from
heating up your liquids. The 2-liter bladder features a locking bite
valve for easy drinking that doesn't drench you with water like other
The VaporShadow has multiple zippered compartments and stretch mesh stash pockets to keep you well-organized on the trail. The hidden internal back pocket is perfect for ice packs to help keep you cool, and Nathan designed its front bottle pocket to fit its 22-ounce Tru-Flex bottle (or any smaller bottle). The pack also has a zippered pocket for smartphones, a pocket for pills like electrolytes to keep you moving, and clips for trekking poles in case you need them on the trail. The external shock cord at the rear keeps everything compressed throughout the race so the pack feels tight from the moment you start the race until you finish.

- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I need to be equipped with hydration and nutrition, so I knew I needed a good hydration system that allowed me to carry gels, gu’s and extra calories with me on the course. I also needed something that would not affect my running or my performance on obstacles. I have yet to test this in a Spartan Race but have taken it hiking, on some trail runs and road runs. I am happy with the performance so far. It’s light weight, stays tight on my body with two straps across my chest, there is minimal sloshing and there’s a tightening system as you drink and decrease the volume from the 2 liter bladder. There are 2 pockets in the front that allow for additional bottles/flasks, and several pockets for your gels, keys, phone, etc. I like the magnet clip to keep the straw out of your way while you run but is easily accessible for a quick drink and just as fast to clip back on. The water flows very smooth and easy, which I’ve struggled with some other packs before, and trust me, the last thing you need to fight with is using your lung capacity to suck water out of your hydration pack. Overall, I’m happy with this system and all it’s bells and whistles. I will be back to report after I’ve put this bad boy through the ringer in

This vest is perfect, 2L bladder, 2 pockets up front will fit Nathan Tru-Flex 22oz bottles, or really any size bottle, so I actually have over 3L total fluids with me. Most important, PHONE POCKET is perfect. A lot of other vests don't have this convenient pocket. Easily grab my phone, take pics, change music, ect.... Plenty of other storage for jacket, food, etc..
