AMg V2 Alloy Chain Guide

You vowed at the end of last year that you weren't going to spend any more afternoons yelling profanities on the side of the trail while your ride buddies sped away, unaware that you'd dropped your chain again on one of the best stretches of your ride. Rather than being the one known for ill-timed mechanical mishaps again, you're turning over a new leaf this year. Do it the right way and invest in MRP's AMg V2 Alloy Chain Guide.

Based in singletrack-laden Grand Junction, MRP focuses solely on drivetrain accessories and suspension, bestowing careful attention on its small family of products. Compatible with drivetrains with clutch-based rear derailleurs or ones using additional chain-retention rings, the AMg has a simple, effective design that guards, rather than guides, your chain through a ride. In fact, you'll be able to install and make adjustments on it yourself using only a 4mm hex wrench. New this year, MRP added a nylon skid plate to further shield your chainrings through chunky rock gardens, aiming for smoother transitions through bumpy spots. It also updated the upper guide, using a softer durometer alloy interior for noiseless guiding when you're out on the trails.

  • Hang onto your chain through the rough spots with this guide
  • Lightweight, durable alloy can handle bumps and rocks
  • Design works best with clutched derailleurs or retaining rings
  • Grooved upper guide with reinforced back plate eases setup
  • Nylon skid plate protects chainrings through rock gardens
  • Works with chainlines 49mm and wider and 1 x 9, 10, and 11 drivetrains

    Nice protection

    I've used it several times

Bought this to use for a 1X11 conversion. Fits the 30T front ring nicely. Would have preferred the look of the 2 piece (high mount guide/separate bash guard) but its more $. Overall nice product. Easy to set up.

Fits Trek Slash 8 like a champ

I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

My son needs to protect his chain and ring on his Enduro race rig from the West Virginia rocks. This unit was easy to install and keeps his chain on in the rowdiest terrain. Comes with everything one needs to get perfect fit.

    Just Buy It Already

I've put it through the wringer

For real. Read the title. If you bike in a place with rock gardens, big stumps or don't consider yourself a great picker of lines (I'm lucky enough to be all 3) this thing installs in like a minute and will save your chain ring over and over again. Note: I run a 32T ring and the 26-32 is a perfect fit with zero drag.

    Got to Have It

    I've used it several times

Definitely is a piece of mind. They are quick and easy to install and the price tag is well worth the investment to protect your much larger investment (AKA your bike).

    Protect Your Ride

I've put it through the wringer

This chain guide has saved my chainring and chain more than once. I was really happy I installed it after bashing a rock in Fruita, CO. It was really easy to install and worth the investment.

    MRP AMg V2 Chainguide

The All-Mountain Guide is the love child of two innovative and revered product lines, the 1x and XCg. Perfectly suited to the popular all-mountain segment, the All-Mountain Guide shares the freshly updated "TR" upper guide with the 1x, and adds MRP's patented integrated skid. The All-Mountain Guide is a great choice for 5-6" travel bikes when used with the latest tensioned rear derailleurs or on its own for shorter-travel trail bikes or hardtails that require bash protection. The contact-free, "upper-only" chain retention means the AMg will be virtually silent and completely drag-free when pedaling. The patented integrated skid will protect your crank and chainring and prevent the chain from ever contacting and potentially damaging your expensive frame.

I have a 32 tooth chainring 1x11 setup and I was wondering if it's better to get the 26-32 tooth version or the 32-38 tooth version?

I try to be techy. sometimes it works...

    I've used it several times

sometimes it doesn't. I've smashed my chainring enough times that I definitely need this.

    Better safe than sorry

I've put it through the wringer

A small price to pay to protect your investment. Just after installing this bash guard, I smashed into a rock riding through a steep rock garden on Grafton Mesa, which certainly would have damaged my chaining and chain. This instantly made me greatful for purchasing this chain guide rather than having to order a new chainring and chain, which would have made me miss a few rides on the rest of my trip in Zion.

    Better Safe than sorry

    I've used it several times

Luckily haven't needed this to come into play, but better safe than sorry down the road. With the resorts ramping up for summer fun figured why not add a little added security for those when we ride downhill. Super easy to install, looks clean and fingers crossed will work great.
