Carbon Paste
Carbon fiber frames and components are fantastic but they do require a little more diligence on install. In the past, we'd put grease on any threaded or press fit assembly on a bike build. Nowadays, on carbon parts that we don't want to move, we use Motorex Carbon Paste for two reasons: it prevents the slick clearcoat on many carbon components from sliding, and we know that it is safe for carbon whereas some greases might be questionable breaking down resin and fiber. The paste prevents over torqued bolts in an attempt to keep components from slipping which can result in stripped and snapped bolts, cracked clamps, or crushed components. If you haven’t been using anything on carbon assemblies, shame on you. Dry components make noise, they corrode, and they're prone to slip. The paste is slightly gritty so carbon on carbon interfaces will require much less torque to stay put. This transparent paste is a godsend when working with ultra-lightweight parts where specific torque values are important for safety.
- Assembly paste for carbon components
- Prevent corrosion and creaks between surfaces
- Reduce torque levels and prevent components from slipping

How does this stuff work compared to PARK TOOL Supergrip Carbon And Alloy Assembly Compound, which I'm using now and it's not preventing the aluminum bottom bracket cups from turning in the carbon frame shell while peddling?

Will it prevent aluminum bottom bracket bearing cups from turning in the carbon frame shell while peddling? I have the threaded PF Wheels Manufacturing BB in there now. I've heard Locktite 609 green works good for this purpose, but I'd rather not use an adhesive if at all possible. Also not sure about the chemical properties being safe to use on carbon fiber. Thanks anyone for tested feedback!

Giving it a try
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I am giving this a try on my cockpit and seatpost to keep things from moving around. It seems nice but we'll see how it holds up over time, so far so good.

Not an Abrasive
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
This is the best carbon paste you'll find. As other reviewers have said it's not abrasive like other carbon pastes. Motorex has put a lot of thought and research in their chemicals like this. A bottle this size will last you a good long while.

Finally!

This product is awesome. It works really well. Friction paste is usually abrasive to finishes, and this stuff is not. I'm a tall dude (60cm frame) and have to adjust/remove my seatpost to get the bike in the back of the minivan. This does not scratch my seatpost.

Adds Friction Without Scratching
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I am used to carbon pastes that basically feel like grease with sand mixed in. I always thought that was just how it was and the side effects from using it were unavoidable, you would just have a seatpost that would get scratched up and that was that. This Carbon paste uses fibers, it does a hell of a job keeping carbon bits in place and does not scratch the finish of your $200+ seatpost. That is a win in my book.
