Description

X3 Enduro 27.5in Boost Wheelset

Hand-built in Utah, the enduro-specific but all-mountain loving Mercury X3 Enduro 27.5in Boost Wheelset strikes the sweet spot as a do-it-all wheelset. It's relatively lightweight at 1754 grams, reliably sturdy, and stiff with boost spacing, but without the premium cost of carbon hoops. And a 30-millimeter internal width optimally supports tires from 2.2 up to 2.8 inches in width.

Mercury laser welds the X3 Enduro to ensure a consistent, seamless rim that's well-balanced and without irregularities. The pronounced bead socket and flat rim bed allow you to set up tubeless tires without excessive effort easily. Mercury uses Axis-CL hubs from the X1 line and sealed cartridge bearings for longevity, even in sloppy conditions. 28 Sapim Race double-butted, spokes, and Sapim brass nipples ensure a reliable, durable wheelset without the excessive weight of burlier wheels with 32 spokes. The X3 does not come with tubeless tape or valves, but is tubeless compatible.

  • Nimble alloy wheelset for enduro and all-mountain sessions
  • Boost spacing for modern sleds and improved stiffness
  • Respectably lightweight for easier maneuvering
  • Alloy for a performance wheel without the carbon price
  • Axis-CL hub trickles over from the X1

Disintegrated rear hub, in less than 300 miles. Mercury indicated there was a design issue with this particular hub and warranty replaced it with a whole new rear wheel with "upgraded" hub/freewheel. At about 100 miles one of the pawls has sheared in half. I contacted Mercury again....CRICKETS....they will not respond to any of my calls and emails. As far as the hoops go, meh! I have had to true them up as our local (relatively flat) XC trails have proven to be too much for them.

I’ve had these for over a year now and they are pretty damn good wheels especially for the price. The complaints I have are low level of engagement and both the front and rear have 2-5 dings on the rims each though they still hold air. Update. The rear rim is now cracked. I would not recommend these for how easy they are to bend/ding / crack.

Gareth - You must be one of those guys who runs very low tire pressure and bottoms out and then you complain about the wheels. I have the same wheels for over 13 months and they’re great.

Bought these wheels 4 months ago to replace my OE wheels. This is my second set of Mercury wheels I have purchased, one set for road and now MTB. The quality and attention to detail is incredible with these wheels. Plus the look great. Two thumbs up.

These X3 wheels really work well. The 30mm inner width is perfect for stability and fast cornering. These wheels are light and extremely durable. The hub is excellent and the engagement is quick. Very well made wheels.

The new X3 wheels are a big change from my Stans set. Lighter, wider and feel more responsive on the trails. Great hub engagement. Tubeless set up was very easy. Highly recommend.
