Why We Like The S5 Wheelset

The Mercury S5 Road Wheels are designed for all-around performance, featuring a 50mm rim depth that boosts aerodynamics without sacrificing versatility. The refined carbon construction yields a stiff rim with responsive steering, with a bit of added compliance for rough roads. Worth Every Penny!

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

These are my first upgrade wheels, I'd heard all the hype about needing to change from OE wheels supplied. Wow. These are amazing all rounders, aero and you can feel it when up to speed. They roll fast and are easier to spin up than the standard wheels, look great on my Basso and feel so strong. Highly recommend.

Great Wheels

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

The Mercury S5's are beautiful and ride very well. Perfectly straight and true out of the box. They feel better and better the faster you go! I love the understated graphics. Have not ridden in the rain yet, but so far the rim brakes seem to work fine. I'm not fan of the loud freehub, but I'll have to get used to it. I pulled the freehub off and added freehub grease (I know they do not recommend it) but still loud. New Conti 5000s are notoriously tight, but mounted them ok - but then had a hard time getting the front tire bead to seat fully (took a couple inflations and deflations). They make my 11 year old Tarmac look new.... Overall very pleased!

I just upgraded my OE stock wheels on my Giant. Nice and light plus stiff. Great rolling hubs. 500 miles so far and everything is good.

Excellent Performance!

I?ve had these S5 for a little over year so far with over 3400 miles with no issues. They feel really stable at high speed, yet nice and lively when I'm grinding out long efforts or climbing. Even though they are 50mm profile, they hold really steady in windy conditions. Braking is excellent. Hubs are silky smooth. Love the performance of these wheels.

Best money you can spend on upgrading your bike. Have put on a 1200 miles on these in the last six months with no issues. They handled cross winds well with excellent braking. Hubs are super smooth with good engagement. Running Michelin 28c and they feel great. Highly recommend.

Great Performance and Price!

This is my 2nd set of Mercury wheels and I must say I truly enjoy these wheels. Awesome riding quality and very durable. I weigh 220 pounds and have hit some serious bumps in the road and the wheels stayed nice and straight. Build quality is off the charts. Good stiffness when climbing. Braking is excellent with no squeaking. I whole heartily would recommend S5 wheels you will not be disappointed.

Great wheelset!

I have never owned a set of carbon wheels so did not know what to expect other than what I have researched. I'm impressed with the improved ride quality and responsiveness. I have fitted Michelin Pro 28c tubeless tires (really easy to fit). Upgrade has completely changed the feel of my bike for the better. They look great too. Two thumbs up.
